Fine with me buddy. Just that you should have mentioned any rule like that at the beginning, so I wouldn't waste my time. I guess you don't want an early jackpot on that one.LL":ocq01q1c said:Question marks = no cigar
Uh oh. I detect the scent of someone who takes my posts seriously.babysinister":avu0cpa0 said:Fine with me buddy. Look again. It's j and Big Jim who are on the hook. I was just the admin guy who posted the pics. :lol:Justpipes":b7g36m3l said:LL, he got them right, now pay up!!!!!!!!

I think the Net in general has made trivia contests and their cousins obsolete. Interesting to contemplate, since there must be other areas similarly affected. Texting & etc. has made written language a complete hash for today's youth, for example, but instantaneous Wiki-style access to every subject imaginable has changed the very concept of knowledge (why know it when you can look it up?).Slow Puffs":kj8dl9as said:LL,
There's a lesson in this.... there are some damn smart people out there.... I identified 3 of them on 'first' look and and if i can do that, hell there are many more who are keener than me...
That's too true, but how can one query photos on wiki or Google, as opposed to text queries? Heck, maybe there's a way to do it, but just for the record, I got those name to photo matches because I happened to identify them on my own. And, since I'm 62 years old and no youthful mind warped by the internet, I would have caught those twenty years ago, except perhaps for Clooney, who wasn't well known then.LL":3addq5vo said:I think the Net in general has made trivia contests and their cousins obsolete. Societal change on that fundamental a level hasn't been seen in a long time.
No, I'm not literal minded, I just don't like being dicked around. I would suspect that I'm not alone in this. But I must say that I do accept your above self-valuation at face value. Naive person that I am, I concluded from your original post that you actually expected someone to identify the photos. I hope you won't be disappointed next time, when no one bites.LL":xx6xb4xl said:[...] Finally, my name was on it. I'm the biggest poster of goofy **** on BoB.
I thought Justpipes was the most literal-minded, linear thinking person on the Internet (maybe in the history of the world)... Are you challenging him for the title, or something?
P.S. -- regarding trivia being common knowledge in the Internet age, while looking up pics on the Net isn't possible in the direct sense, cross checking them is; I was talking about simply exposure. It's hard to do much surfing without running into such things.
