...knowing that our Democracy is safe, now that I'm a Pole Worker. It's Primary season in Arkansas and early voting is available through Monday the 4th, with Election Day on Tuesday the 5th. While our early voting is rather light (compared to the main voting day), it has still increased from the past few years.

Now, get off your lazy butts, do your research on every candidate, and get out and vote. Even the primaries count.

Gotta agree with this, I voted this year for the first time since I was 18. My disenchantment with politics was my excuse. I do not agree with the practice of strategic voting but with no "competent" candidates I felt that standing waiting for one was leaving my needs unaddressed, invisible. I decided to make sure my opinion was given, regardless how fruitless it seemed. Vote, it may be the only influence you have on the future.

Forgive me if this seems preachy. It was a big decision for me.

I've voted in every national election since I turned18 in 1974! I also vote in most state and local elections. I would have to say that I vote against politicians as much as I vote for them and more than once I've written in Mickey Mouse for president because the choices were so poor!

Really sad when one has to choose a candidate because they are the lesser of two evils. Every ballot should have a bottom line that says none of the above, lol.

Exactly my feeling on the issue. And that rejection of the available candidates should have an electoral consequence if the numbers are high enough. I would really like to see the results of candidate rejection as an option with consequences, I have a feeling it could turn modern politics on its head.

I guess you could list it as "None of the Above" or follow other countries parliments and vote "No Confidence."

in my county when we vote for county comissioners (there are 7) we have 7 votes to distribute as we please. Seven for one, or four, two and one or and combo as long as it doesn't exceed seven. Its been that way as long as i can remember and i never thought it odd till later on in life. Anybody else do this??

Interesting, must you distribute the voting points among several candidates? If they must be divided I can see the process spreading the responsibility of selection on every voter's shoulders for every candidate. This would reduce social division and blame among voters. If all voting points can be used for a single candidate I can't see a valid reason for continuing the practice. I would guess this is a very old practice, likely from a period of early settlement, when people would have known candidates on a more personal level.

We have the option in Canada to write "No Confidence", "None" at the bottom of an electoral ballot in elections, Unfortunately, without a contingency for a revote or candidate replacement based on a minimum "Non-confidence" percentage it carries no more weight than a spoiled ballot. It only serves as a statistical barometer.

We may distribute our 7 in any way we see fit. All 7 may go to 1 candidate. Each candidate has a space for 7 votes to mark and as long as you cast no more than 7 its ok.
