So what do you all of you have planned for the glorious 4th of July?

BBQ?

Parades and other patriotic activities?

Fireworks? What kind? Legal or?

Or perhaps visiting with your relations and all that means (see above).

Do tell.

I'm gonna be coy and not reveal what I have planned!

:bball:

Cheers,

RR

Llistening the yearly jury recitals the whole day long, me. The 4TH doesn't get the same attention down here, lol. I'll be thinking of you guys though!

Briskets and baked beans get started tonight around midnight.. That way they are ready by tomorrow evening. Beverages are stocked. The rest of the fixin's will be provided by attendees. A few cases of clay pigeons, BYO Shotguns invitational. No fireworks after dark, instead the Lonesome Llama Ranch outdoor theater will be playing both Independence Day movies..

Nothing wild, and certainly nothing that may potentially catch the forest ablaze....

Afternoon bbq with my brother and his wife. Then relaxing on the back patio with a cold drink and a bowl of molto dolce in my 2016 st pat pete.

Aunt and uncle are in town so we'll be playing cards (500 bid) quite a bit, cooking out tomorrow, a little cornhole and maybe even a volleyball game or two... pretty much just enjoying each other and appreciating that we are fortunate to do so.

Happy 4th, everyone!

I'll be fly fishing a favorite trout stream up in the Adirondacks around 5 AM. Should be frying a couple for breakfast on the bank by seven. Back home early afternoon to unload the brisket from the smoker, and we'll be off to a BBQ with a couple dozen friends on the lake shore. Fireworks, a couple signal cannons, and beer. Have a great 4th guys.

I'll be working a 12 hour shift. The good news is we have plans to attend a cookout after I get off work. A few beers, a pipe or two and some fireworks to wrap up the evening. The best part is, since I'm working I'm excused from party prep and hosting so all I have to do is show up, eat, drink, and smoke.

Get laid, then maybe light a cigar and read some Locke, the guy who is probably responsible for it all. We're talkin' about the 4th, right?

I'll be home with my family and smoking Tudor Castle all day. After all it is a Holiday. There will be a fine meal prepared under the supervision of one of the world's best cooks, my wife, and as we always do on this day, remember and reflect what our fathers did to keep this day of celebration possible. The celebration will close with us watching A Capital Fourth on TV. I love watching my grandkids dancing to the music. :)

Boring? Not in the least! It's a life style I'm envious of. Happy 4th of July! :)

My Lothlorien red is also quite interesting. Enjoy.

Now that sounds right in the ol' wheel house to me!

OK, so finally I'll follow up with this thread.

Worked a full day today. People gotta have their beer. After all - it's the 4th of July and one of our busiest days at the brewery & taproom.

Now home and my cul-de-sac will present what amounts to a professional fireworks show in all aspects! Families from the area converge here and have the largest and loudest displays one can imagine. So it'll be a difficult night for sleeping, and this guy has to get up at his normal time tomorrow.

Bigass mortars are already exploding in and around the 'hood. Doesn't matter if these are legal or illegal. That's the way of it here.

:monkey:

Cheers,

RR

I was going to ask what you ended up finally doing today - but you beat me to it.

:)

Hope you get some sleep...

My plans were to beat my way through traffic in order to be on time for my new job. Pleased to say that I achieved this arriving nearly half an hour early. Spent the day filling my book shelf above my workstation with my reference books, reading policies and populating my outlook calendar. I'm pleased to report that the dept has a superb working culture that I'm looking forward to being a part of. That was my 4th of Jul here in Blighty!
