    frozen tobacco... still good?

I can't say I'd want to store my stash in the garage. Especially any vintage tins. Then again probably 4 months out of the year I'd expect a good share of tobacco shipped to points North gets a tad nippy for at least a few days. If I was forced to use the garage I think I'd put my stash inside...

    Photo$hop

LR is one of the best programs out there. It's progressed to the point that any one that doesn't want to do composting or work in layers should be pretty darn happy. I've been using LR since LR1. While I do have Photoshop CS5E but I rarely use it. The Photoshop suites are are designed for...

    Favourite of your hunting rifles

My most travelled is a Weatherby Accumark in .270 Weatherby. My favorite was a '94 Winchester 32-40 take down that was previously owned by Tom Selleck. Overall I'm a lever gun fan and collected '92 Winchesters for years. Good to see other Marlin 45-70 fans here. I had one of the Guide guns from...

Can anyone recommend a good pipe refurbisher?

I've used Mike at Walkers many times. Excellent work but as others mentioned there is about a six week turn around. You can check on their work load any time by visiting their web site and going to- Pipe Repairs-Repair schedule. I always get the ozone treatment on estates. It's only $5 and well...

    Hello Everyone

Good to see you here Cajun but whats with the winter cloths? I thought LA was supposed to be warm. I always figured a state that says "Sportsmans Paradise" on it's license plates was probably a good place to be. Laissez les bons temps rouler! Dave

    Greetings from sunny SE MI

Well ok It's sunny from July 5 -Aug 31!  I've been hanging out it the background for several weeks here @ BOB and finally took the plunge.   I started smoking a pipe in the late 70's when I would cut firewood for extra cash in High School. My fondest pipe memories are setting around a pot...

What is a good brand of dress shoe?

Allen Edmonds is the stand out for me. I try to pick them up during Nordstroms annual summer sale since they are often 1/2 price. Cole Haan and Ferragamo come in a close second for me. For Casual dress Gokey is still hand made in the USA.

    Favorite Boubon or U.S. Whiskey?

I'm a Blanton's fan but just about any thing out of the Buffalo Trace distillery works for me. They have an excellent tour if any one gets near Lexington, KY. It's been a while but on our last visit they had killer deals on 20 year old Pappy Van Winkle .                                          ...

    Lucchese Boots: Any good?

I have a pair of Lucchese that must be 15 years old. Well broken in but no where near ready to give up the Ghost. The only pair of Tony llamas I have made in El Paso are Ostrich and they are even older. Both brands are comfortable. I have no idea if the Lucchese boots I have were made in El Paso...

    Dunhill group sizes

Interesting comparison. I recently sold a '60 group 4 Tanshell LB. The bowl was massive on that beast. Bigger than many ODA's I've seen. Instead of capacity I just tend to think of the Dunhill groups as a very general size guide.
