    Drink Recipes

Made this for a party my neighbors and I had over the weekend. It was enjoyed by all and sundry....at least the ones that were still clothed and lucid said so.

MacBaren Va No 1 Hybrid ?

I bought a bunch of this about 7 years ago or so and most of it I packed into mason jars and stored. It's mellowed out nicely since the blast furnace days of its youth. I can smoke the aged version much more frequently than I was able when I first got it. I would think if you mixed in some...

    Drink Recipes

Here's a recipe for a drink I particularly find appealilng. It's easy to put together and tasty as can be.... I like to call this simply.... "Beer" 1. Open refrigerator 2. Take out bottle(or can) of beer 3. Open 4. Drink No work involved!

    Suggestions for new blends

If you want a sweet, interesting flavor treat, mix exactly 50/50 C and D Crooner and Benjamin Hartwell's Evening Stroll. It's almost like a vanilla/choclate twist cone, but you can smoke it in a pipe! :pipe:

    Cavendish= Aromatic??

As Dave suggested, it's not everything that's going to leave an after-stench in your pipe. Of the blends I smoke regularly, only 2 require a separate pipe for fear of ghosting. The rest I can smoke in whatever, pretty much.

    The black tongue survey

I don't know how you fellas drink this stuff. I sniff it and the gag reflex kicks in. There's been a couple of different high-end Scotches I've been able to SIP at from time to time, but even that leaves my tongue feeling all furry. Guess I'm just a beer kinda guy.

    Meerschaum coloring-

How much and how quickly it colors will depend on how often you smoke it. Nice thing with meers, you don't have to rest them like you do a briar, so smoke away! It will start to turn a goldenish/brownish over time. If you google "meerschaum coloring" or something along those lines, you'll...

    What's your favorite beer?

One to add that I've recently come to be obsessed with is Oberon. Can't tell you who brews it, just that's it's sublime.

    Camping with pipe

Just wind, pretty much. Also depends on what you're going to be doing while smoking. If you're fly fishing, might want to attach an extra arm or two. Working a pipe while working a fly rod is difficult for me. Some guys have it down, but I'm not one. Other than that, there's pretty much nothing...

    Black Frigate

You'll enjoy it, it's an excellent smoke. It's a crumble cake, and it's very moist. I would suggest crumbling and drying it a bit before you load up. Other than that, grab a glass of what have you and smoke the bejeezus out of the stuff. Quite tasty!

A Name For The Movement/Style of Young American Pipe Carvers

Just playing devil's advocate here, but do they NEED a name placed on their style other than American? It seems to stand alone from every other style across the world in several ways. For instance, if you say to me "American carver" and stop right there, I immediately envision Jody Davis pipes...

    Tobacco Suggestions?

I know this is a tough thing to do without actually knowing what the guy asking for suggestions smokes regularly. I'll try to make it easier if I can by limiting the field of blenders to make a suggestion from. I'm getting ready to put a 'baccy order in and would like to include something from...

    Prizes in your tins

I normally find tobacco in my tins :D Sounds like you maybe got a piece of stem or vein from the 'baccy leaf. I find them from time to time in some blends. Never found a beetle wing, though.

    Black Frigate

Davey... I'm not terribly familiar with Black Frigate, but is it anything atl all like Blockade Runner in terms of it's cut and packing in the tin? I'm asking because I've noticed with Blockade Runner that I have to rub some out and let it sit for a bit to dry somewhat before I load my pipe...
