Though I'm not particularly compulsive in general, I do follow a rotation whereby I smoke certain pipes certain days. I smoke 3-4 pipes per day. My personal idea of pipe collecting is that if I'm not going to smoke a pipe regularly I probably don't need it and my own idea of regular is at least...

Actually, in my experience, tobaccos like CH & PA tend to be bite-free unlike many other non-OTC burleys. earl

Outdoors? You mean where it's windy and hot in the summer and windy and cold in the winter. Nah, only smoke where there's no breeze, always 70 degrees or so, in my recliner...as in indoors. :P earl

Yeah, it's good. In fact, if I had to stick with 1 baccy, it would be Carter Hall. Never actually tried Walnut. Now that I've overcome some residual snobbery about OTC's, I'd consider trying it but don't like the tiniest particle of latakia in my tobaccos. earl

Frankly, have become a convet to OTC's since discovering smokes lke PA & CH a few months ago. Going to try SWR soon. In 3 decades of smoking primarily non-OTC's have yet to find burly that smoked smoother and more bite-free than PA or CH. earl

PS Cube Cut in a Peterson Birr Castle. Doubt I'd order anymore of it despite smoking it for some time. Tastes and/or body chemistry have changed such that now it tends to bite a bit more than it used to do. In fact, the aforementioned have changed to the point that there is less enjoyment now...

Never tried Granger and only very recently tried Carter Hall and PA despite my 30 years of pipe smoking. Most of that time spent smoking only non-OTC tobaccos. Much to my surprise, discovered I liked CH & PA as well or better than most non-OTC's I've tried or been using. Only tried about 8 C&D...
