    Apple or Tomato?

To me, definitely not an apple. Wider and more open at the top than an apple.

    Dunhill "Patent" Pipes

Yeh, the patent represents an older pipe. Ones I have are good smokers. I think they benefit from just, number one, the briar being above ground over fifty years now, a better work ethic then which resulted in a better made pipe, Algerian briar, and possibly oil curing.  I think oil curing has...

    Breaking in a Pipe

To me, a new pipe starts to lose some it's edge in 6-10 smokes. I don't think a pipe begins to show it's full potential until at least 40-50 smokes, and keeps getting better, if it is a decent pipe. A pipe with poorly cured briar, or just poorly made may never smoke really well. Aromatics and PG...

What do you think of this pipe?

Not a fan of the fan design, pun intended. Agree it is a bit simplistic, and could be made into a nice one with a little work. As long as you like it, that is all that matters though, enjoy it.

    RE: Cigar like pipe tobacco

Billy Budd is a good one, made for the late Sailorman Jack. He used to add even more cigar leaf to it. GH Dark Flake Unscented is a good one also. GH uses a lot of African and Indian tobacco which imparts the cigarish taste to a blend.

    Prince Albert revisited

Can see why this was an all dayer back when. Too much gunk, and not strong enough to suit me. Nice flavor though.

    Tail of the Dragon

Have ridden it at least a dozen times. No longer make it a point to go there though. Just too many idiots on the road. Many better roads to ride in the area. I agree, 129 South of the Dragon is a much better ride, as is, I think, 28 to the West of Deal's Gap.
