    Xikar Resource

Same here; I've had one for almost two years. The only con is the tank's relatively low fluid capacity.

    Hamborger Veermaster

The Hamborger Veermaster is also celebrated in a German sea shanty inspired by the arduous route it followed all the way to "Californio". I guess you could hum this ditty while filling up your pipe with some HV. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ur0NeKH0NRg

    Holmes Novels

I have the complete SF in the exhaustive 2-volume New Annotated Edition, two heavy books, and the complete SF downloaded for free to my Kindle, so I can read the stories while visiting or traveling. I concur with NeroWolfe about the Inspector Maigret books by Simenon. Good ideas all around for...

    Cobbez-vous?

Yes, but that universe would be aware that there is crap in it. Just not human beings. That's why cobs were invented, to forget the pain that the universe's indifference causes us.

    Cobbez-vous?

    1. Yes 2. Seven: Five MM diplomats, one natural and The General. 3. All of them. 4. Some blends smoke best when smoked in a cob. These includes many burley-based blends and some aros. Also, less fuss when I need to relax and not have to mind the technique so much. 5. See number 4. 6...

    What are you smoking?

GLP Telegraph Hill in a Bannard (Sasquatch) silver ring bent billiard, to beguile away another sleepless night. The night reminds me of a passage from the Eve of St. Agnes: "Ah bitter chill it was!" And this in Miami even.

Epiphany and my best smoke yet

Epiphany benefits to a remarkable degree from some jar time, imo. When I first tried this blend right after popping the tin I didn't much like it. So I jarred it and it remained untouched for a few months. After I tried it next it became one of my favorites, and is one of the few burley...

    My Favorite Album So Far

This is the best album of all time, imo. Not all music, although it does have the immortal rendition of Tambourine Man, in which Shatner manages to convey grief for the loss of innocence, confusion and a subtle yet inconsolable sadness. And who can forget his declamatory version of Cyrano de...

    Theory: hydrating tobacco with whiskey

Rum and whiskey are reputed to be good flavors to add to tobacco, if one knows how to do that right. As a beverage, however, hard liquor of any kind is also reputed to have a dehydrating effect on the imbiber, due to its alcohol content. Of course, it's not axiomatic that dehydration would...

    Samuel Gawith Grousemoor

Seriously though, I feel the same way about Condor. I think in my case it was mostly due to actual physical allergy to whatever is in it. I like St. Bruno though. Go figure. No accounting for taste or body chemistry.

    What are you smoking?

I stuck a couple of BBF flakes in a dedicated coffee grinder, let it dry (a loong time), and am smoking it in a Stanwell Majestic 64, a Danish freehand dublinoid with a rusticated plateau. Working for me.
