Pretty much the same for me except it was Half & Half in my bowl. I needed "a cargo of contentment in the bowl of any pipe." :) Madeira Gold was another old OTC. There was also Scandanavik (sp?).

Gene, the manager at OutWest is a great person to do business with. He exchanged a very poorly drilled Pete for me even after it was smoked. He says a bad pipe is a bad pipe.

Since it's easier for most people to smoke latakia mixtures some of us sometimes smoke them harder/faster than we do virginias and burn our tongue. Lat mixtures don't bother me at all but va/vaper/vaburs can bite me if I let it.

My problem with aros, other than ghosting, is that I can't taste the tobacco under the casings. Never have been able to. I get a lot of flavor from casings but none from the tobacco itself. Some cased VA's come off the same way when I smoke them. How does anyone know the tobacco is solid if...

Like Yak said, go slow. I use a T handle to hold the bit and go up in small increments. I stop at 5/32 usually but have gone to 11/64 on a couple of pipes before the magic happened.

PSLNF, OGS, PSBEF, McC FM 2000 and Escudo. I smoke more Va/burs than anything. GH&Co Brown Flake unscented and Scotch Flake are two of my all time favorites.
