    Newbie from BC

Welcome aboard. Canada is well represented here. Lots of advice and opinions to be had, some are even worth listening to!

    What are you... Typing?

You should give Virtual Box a try. Free, and so far it is more compatible and friendly to set up and keep working than I found with either VMW or Parallels. At least as of about a year ago when I made the switch, have not tried any other VM's since them.

    Secret Santa 2010

Oh boy, now I really can't wait! Love strong tobacco, especially with hallucinations thrown in!

    Secret Santa 2010

Finally got to open my Secret Santa package on Christmas morning. What a haul of top grade tobaccos my SS sent me! I got seven, COUNT 'EM, seven, tins of top quality virginia (Santa must have read my letter where I explained my fondness for this type of weed). All but one are brand new to me...

    newb questions

Storing your stogies can be pretty basic. I have a couple of classic wood humidors but find that they don't hold the humidity very well and if you don't remember to fill them weekly then they dry out. The absolute best I have found is a coleman cooler. Pretty much any size to suit the size of...

It is nice to meet you.

Welcome to the BoB! Heinlein fan?

Warning --- You probably have some of this...

Natch, it certainly will make the stuff more drinkable, but it is a terrible waste of good bourbon!

    Peterson pipes

I have a small collection of the Pete spigots, all fishtail mouthpieces. I like them for being solid, heavy pipes. I have purchased both new and estate, the bowl coating is a PITA but with some wiping with alcohol and a couple of smokes it pretty much disappears. I consider them to be an...

    Dunhill Nightcap

A heavy english, pretty good dose of Vit N. Recommended as an evening smoke after a hearty meal. The original Orlick was ok, not as good as the Murray's. Have not sampled the new shipments, still have about a dozen tins left from before they quit importing to the USA.

Warning --- You probably have some of this...

Nasty stuff, virtually a universal solvent, will dissolve pretty much anything. I have personally pretty much banned it from the house, especially anywhere the liquor cabinet!

How's THIS for a man cave?

Reminds me a lot of our weekend place, bit more weather tight than this. No cable, no telephone (cell works if you go outside). PB, the 3g does work but only at 1g speeds, I can at least monitor BoB.

    Secret Santa 2010

The elves finally finished their work, so the second and final strafing run has been launched on my SS recipient. Whew, looking forward to sitting down on Christmas morning and opening my box that Mrs Hunter has been so closely guarding under our tree. MANY THANKS to Carlos for riding herd on...

    What is your favorite cigar?

The best all time cigar that I have smoked is the Cohiba Esplendido that I only get to enjoy when I visit a business associate up in Canada, he gets them from a ISOM gov official when he is down there on business. My favorite domestic is the Montecristo Afrique Kilimanjaro, I am especially fond...

    What are you... Typing?

My main computer at home is a Mac Pro, dual quad-core Intel Xeons @ 3.0ghz, 12gb ram, about 6tb of hard drives hanging off of it and dual 24" apple displays. For portables I have 2x 17" Macbook Pros, 2.8ghz, one for work, one for weekends. Wife has a 13" for her email and facebook. Home...

    Good Cheap Cigars

Yep on the La Unicas! I have a few bundles of the connecticut shade 400's that I bought about 14 years ago and they are getting really tasty about now. Re cheap cigars, pretty much any of the JR's alternatives can be pretty good with at least 3-4 years of age on them. Biggest thing is the draw...

    What do you drive?

Ten years ago my wife and 2 of our 3 boys were tail-ended by a Camry while in our 1999 Chev Suburban. Camry was doing 55-60 mph (highway construction) while our Suburban was stopped. Drove our truck forward 10 ft into the car ahead of us. Totaled the Camry, people were very lucky not to be...

    Piet OK?

Well, in-fighting is just part of forums, BoB is pretty low key compared to some that I frequent. All the same, us pipesters are supposed to be more intellectual and refined bunch, great thinkers like Sherlock and Albert. Although Sherlock did have a great left jab when he needed it. Anyway...
