Dog walkers who let Fido take a dump in my front yard and don't do clean up. Last week a woman came up off the street with her dog and was standing in my yard in front of the bay window watching as her dog built a hot, steaming pile. My missus went to the door and said, "I hope you're going to clean that up." This idiot became huffy and replied, "I'm a town employee and, for your information, the first ten feet of your property belongs to the town. It isn't yours." Then she left. My wife was speechless. I wish I'd been there at the time. FYI -- the law says the town can use the first ten feet for snow removal and may come on that portion for street repair, branch trimming and such. It does not mean it's a public dog park or a public anything for that matter and does not make town employees a special class of citizen. Back in the day, people weren't this stupid. Keep off my lawn. What part of that is hard?

Blow her away with a 12-gauge! (Just kidding, heh, heh.) The arrogance of the pubic public sector. It's like they think they've been anointed or something. If she's anything like quite a few here, you might want to check the town accounts if she has access in any way. Sticky fingers and all that.

I think this warrants a letter To The Editor of your local newspaper. It just might cause someone from City Hall to come by and begin an investigation. This is the kind of Press those folk dislike. Of course they may do nothing in hopes that it will just go away. :)

Oh man, don't get me started on this one.

Suffice to say I've found pulling a camera out whilst Mutley is doing the act works wonders. It's at this point that the owner usually remembers common sense and decency.

Try it when that public worker let's Mutley crap on your lawn again. I bet she folds instantly.

The dog lady was back this morning. She gave me the same sass she gave my missus. It got loud. My neighbors were out raking and joined in the chorus -- "get out of our neighborhood." The police came and explained to her that front yards aren't dog parks. I much prefer reason and restraint, but sometimes r and r has to be delivered with volume and a bit of profanity to have an effect. I don't expect her back. Heckuva way to spend Sunday morning.

 Well done to the neighborhood & the constabulary

Great outcome Kevin. Let's hope she doesn't come back with a bigger dog :suspect:

Y'know, it was another case of a perfectly good dog and an owner with bats in the belfry. All too common in the Golden Age for Head Cases.

Perhaps the of feet does indeed belong to the town. The dog and the pile are not city property however, and therefore she (by not controlling her dog) is, (can't resist) dumping on public property.

Haha. The town does have a "right of way" for snow plowing, utility work, tree trimming and such. Not dog walking. Well, that was my "pet peeve."? I was sitting out front puffing a briar this morning and neighbors driving by were waving and flashing the ✌ sign.

Last I heard, fecal matter is considered a biohazard. Best the county send out a hazmat team and decontaminate the property. If it leaches into the ground, a department of environmental quality may require excavation and proper disposal at a state run transfer station.
