****** Ford, the great N.Y. Yankee pitcher passed away today. He was 91. As I was growing up, he was one of my idols. I even met him when I was 17 years old. I don't have much more to say. I guess that's it.

In the 1950s, I admired him because he had great control but not blazing fast ball. On the other hand, I liked to see Ryne Duran with his pitching...completely different. Anybody remember Ryne Duren?
