Looks interesting, I'll be keeping an eye on this page. New opportunities are always a good thing.

I like it. Listing prices seem a little high at the moment but I'm sure that's just to protect the seller because there isn't many registered users at the moment. Starting bid is the same as the buy it now price on a few items? Seems pretty silly to place a bid when that's the case, just buy the damn thing.

Oh, reputation wasn't a problem. Just the layout, features, inventory, etc. I think it's great!

I also agree prices for buy-it-now versus opening bids are a bit of an odd setup, but hey.

I know, I was just surprised, in a good way, to see Gregory Pease being one of the founders... that alone let me know that it will be a good place to shop for pipes.

I would imagine that being a temporary thing until traffic to the site increases.

Well, Greg's name did make me hesitate a little...he's a wily fella.

Great. Now Greg's gonna show up at midnight at my place with his car running, door open, booze tempting, and a can of red paint and a paintbrush. *sigh*

I should have thought about that before registering with my real address. :p

This site could get pretty big, I'm interested to see how it goes.

Looks like the site has better terms than ebay if you're a seller, but not as good if you're a buyer. I wish it had a tobacco section.

Kevin and GLP are a couple of heavy hitters, so I bet they did their homework before releasing this.
At the moment, I do prefer the trade/sell section of this and other boards, but time will tell.

If your looking for a good pipe, looks to be a good source. Will be interesting to see how it does. :p

Great, one more place I can not spend the money I do not have...

Thanks Kyle.

Though, really, I am all excited and hope to participate. Thanks Kyle. 8)

I like that too. To me it's more fun to barter than it is to sell. But it will be fun to have another place to drool over pipe porn.

Thanks for posting that up Kyle.

Hmmm ... we are only 1 day old, and still need to work on some things, like the FAQ, which should make things easier to understand.

Why http://www.briarbid.com/ is better -

1. Lower Fees & Simpler Fee Structure. (We have a minimum $1 listing fee to help keep out the junk.)

2. Made Solely for Pipe Collectors - Site Focuses Only on Pipes and related goods.

3. Created BY and FOR Pipe Smokers and Collectors - The site is owned by Trusted Members of the Pipe Community - Greg Pease & Kevin Godbee.

4. More than just a buying & selling platform, Briarbid.com is a Community of users, with a discussion forum integrated into the system.

5. BriarBid presents a more authentic, realistic auction environment. Auctions are run for a selected duration, but are automatically extended as long as there are active bidders, closing only when bidders are silent. No more sniping!

Bidders will only be able to see their own names on bids. Other bidders are anonymous until the auction is over, then all names are revealed. A Seller can see the names of all bidders at all times.

Please sign-up for an account too! http://www.briarbid.com/register.php

Thanks for the posting Kevin. Glad to see an honest site go up that we KNOW is going to be of service to the pipe community. I'll bet most of BoB will be joining.

What I am really excited about is that there will be no shills bidding up prices. That is my main complaint with ebay, they allow shills to run wild there.
