Bought a pipe in Germany. This is the tracking b.s., to date. I live in upstate NY, about a six hour drive or less from Flushing.

Yeah, USPS had there head stuck up there arse again. Happens to me
ever so often. I reckon it's to be expected when you over pay idiots.
It should come back on track (hopefully) and you'll get it soon. ;)

Memphis is a central distribution point. I'm in Dallas and have had stuff shipped accross town and had it go through Memphis.

Was wondering about that. Couldn't find anything on Google. Thank you. I now have hopes of actually receiving the pipe eventually.

And Cart--be careful of characterizing the idio professionals at the PO a certain way. They're everywhere, active and retired. I think Marty Pulvers, for example, was one. Some say they're god-like in their perfection.

Legend's in there own mind, yes I know but, it is what it is. ;)

Richard, at least your package is in the US, I have been waiting for two weeks for DHL to send my package from Germany to the US. They keep telling me that I will get it by 3/9. I hate doing business with them.

You have my sympathies, sir. Think of it as a tease, kind of a delayed gratification foreplay, leading to the big moment. I wouldn't bother with it all, actually, but some of the European vendors seem to have better quality estate stock. (Could be my imagination, grass is greener, etc.)

Surprisingly enough, I had packages get here from the United Kingdom and Italy with 4-5 days, maybe just lucky. But, USPS is the only ones I'll ship with cause the others are even worse and more expensive. They don't screw up much but, when they do they do a good job of it. ;)

Richard I've had the same thing happen to me shipping outbound going around the country before getting to the destination via the usps. I think the package gets put in the wrong bin. MIKE

Great thought, Mike. It'll get here eventually. Unless the seller sent it to someone else by mistake, my main fear.  ~ Rick

Back when I was actively collecting fountain pens and sending and receiving pens from overseas, I found the British, German and even the French postal systems were GREAT but I'll NEVER deal with folks from Italy as it seems whenever I sent or was receiving a package from Italy it was a 50/50 chance it would make to or from there !! Seems their whole postal system is made up of thieves!! And I would NEVER deal with DHL at all !! I never had nothing but problems with that firm, so much that they made the USPS goof-ups look like PERFECT SERVICE !! Hang in there !!

Monbla, it's all your fault. The pipe is a Giubelio d'Oro 115KS pot, a shape I don't have. But you've talked them up so much for smoking flakes and stuff that I just had to try one. It better be good.

Well you went for the BEST and I'm sure you'll be happy when it gets here !!

The pipe I just got from the U.S. was delivered by USPS. It took a month and a half and according to the tracking info went to Mexico then to São Paulo in Brazil then back to Miami then to Honolulu then finally to Australia. This pipe has seen more of the world than I have :)

I just sent a package out Wednesday that sat at the post office for two days before getting forwarded to the main hub in Orlando usually the package is transferred the same day....FUBAR MIKE

Yeah, weird isn't it? You would think they would have more than one major shipping hub

Maybe it's a time travel slingshot effect? Send it away from it's destination and slingshot it around the sun, and it shows up before you ordered it? Captain Kirk does it all the time........

You should read Post Office by Bukowski. Perhaps a work of fiction but plausible IMO.
