Well, Dock, I finally made it to BOB! I'm so glad you're enjoying the 30-year-old Burley Flake. It is smooooth, isn't it? I received a Meerschaum for my birthday from my dear friend Ida and I must say - never having smoked one before - I'm hooked. A cool smoke with no bite, stays lit and tastes like...whatever's in the bowl! I'm now rediscovering my 50-plus different tobaccos and just bought a second Meer @ Peretti's. I'd also like to say hi to Ken - tried the tobaccos you gave me and love the Dark Bird's Eye! But the Happy Bogie set me on my butt - and I was already sitting down!

Just wanted to say hello to you all at BOB! Happy Puffing...

Neil

Neil is a member of the SHPC and a good buddy. Though he's to modest to say it, he's a very well known and respected fragrance designer. He's been busy making our pipe club's official aromatic blend "Abbey Grange". His enthusiasim for our hobby is nothing short of contagious. I'm sure he'll fit right in here!

Thanks, my friend, for your kind words. I look forward to getting to know the brothers and learning from them. Thank you all for your warm welcome!

Wow! Neil, I just noticed you list 'The Mighty Condor' as you current favorite blend! It has been a favorite of mine since 1984-5 ish when I first was introduced to it having purchased a Ben Wade from a fine tobacconist in York, England! I enjoyed it for years until it was suddenly no longer exported to the USA. I've found a reasonable substitute in SG Bracken Flake as they are in a very similar vein. I have since found a friend (who shall remain anonymous) to trade with for an infrequent supply of Condor Original, the one and only. He actually hates the stuff, but should he ever leave the UK he'd likely find himself missing it somehow ...

Anyway, great to have another Condor fan aboard, I felt quite lonely, ok, there are bound to be one or two others on here: Break the seal gently ... for that Condor moment! :pipe:

Ahh, Kilted1, yes! Break gently for that Condor moment! I order it from James Barber and I since they won't take my credit card order, I have to place the order online, then they tell me what the cost will be, I then go to MY bank and transfer funds directly into THEIR bank account and they send it to me! WHEW!!! But I won't be stopped! I love it that much, both original long cut and ready rubbed. I've dedicated 2 pipes to Condor since it will ghost a briar, as I'm sure you know.

Thanks for the info on SG Bracken Flake! Is it readily available? I'd love to try it.
