Gentlemen, Hope all is well. Thought I'd check in and introduce myself. I'm an American who has been living in Seoul for the past two years and will return to the US next summer. I've only been smoking a pipe for about a year and have found it combines well with Johnnie Walker Green Label after a long day. I have two pipes (Jobey and a Bulldog) and I'm becoming partial to Peterson University Flake. I've got a few other tins I haven't opened yet but their time will come. I also enjoy fly fishing and fly tying although I'm not very good at either. On a good day you can find me on one of the rivers throwing flies and smoking a pipe. I enjoy reading this board and hopefully I can contribute to the discussions. Ride safe. SF

Welcome, Innis. How does your pipe go with kimchi?

Natch
It goes very well but it's hard to light and gurgles when you smoke it. vr

It wasn't long ago that I'd've sworn I was the only pipe smoker in Korea. Now there seem to be quite a few. At least I can name seven.

I live in Daejeon though I work in Busan. A fuller self-introruction can be fond here:

Let's met up sometime and share a pipe together, hopefully with some others as well.

Aye, if you're ever in Seoul send me a PM.

Welcome to the forum. Post up some pics of the fly fishing in your area for us.

I'd be happy to.
South Korea is about the size of Missouri and it has some great inland waters. We fish for trout, bass, steel head, carp, anything that puts up a fight. The terrain is very rugged so you have to be prepared to hike and climb if you want to reach the "Secret" fishing spots. Monsoon Season just started so the water can rise quickly if you don't keep an eye out. We also had three north Korean box mines wash down last month so don't go picking up anything unless you're sure it's safe. We fish mostly in the Chorwon Valley since it has a large variety of fish.

This is my fly tying area and where I spend most of my time. You can find me here listening to music, drinking scotch, tying flies and smoking my pipe.
I'm considering retiring next year so I can be a full time fishing bum. SF

Johnny Green - you have very good tastes in blended Scotch.

Welcome to the group. Come back often!

Buddy
