Nope, Called C&D up I spoke to a woman on the phone and paid w/ my cc. I weighed them when they arrived and they were 1 oz on the dot.

You are correct they do not sell 1 oz tins, these were samples packed in ziplock bags w/ lables stuck to them to identify. I was told that due tot the fact the blends I desired to sample did not come from bulk then the prices were higher.

Needless to say, I have yet to sample any more of their product either.

I'm sorry you feel disappointed -- C&D's Web site has been very clear (since I started buying them from them in 2006 anyway) that you only get ounce of tobacco in the sampler if you order their premium "tinned" blends or GL Pease mixtures. You are still getting a pretty good deal, as $5 an ounce is still cheaper than it would be buying it in the 2-ounce tins from them. You'll pay less for a tin if you get it from a retailer, but (a) you won't get a sampler and (b) they prefer to drive traffic to their retailers rather than sell it directly to customers, hence the higher price at their Web site.

I guess I just don't like seeing someone disparage a company I like just because they didn't seem to read the terms before buying. Keep in mind -- this company once let me swap eight unopened tins of a blend simply because I decided I didn't like it, no questions asked! I don't know how you can beat that for customer service.

Keep in mind -- this company once let me swap eight unopened tins of a blend simply because I decided I didn't like it, no questions asked! I don't know how you can beat that for customer service.
