My AC went down yesterday at the worst possible time. Too much to go into but now back up and running.

:D

Cheers,

RR
Oh man, glad to hear it is back up, no AC is AZ is a nightmare.
It wasn't very pleasant. There was a leak in the copper tubing coming out of the compressor and I lost all the refrigerant. All while the outside temps were 115.

Fortunately my system is fairly new, so while the fix wasn't inexpensive it was nowhere near what it could have been if I had an older system that used R-22 or something. After retiring from 30 years in the brewing industry I know a little bit about refrigeration....

RR

God bless AC. Even here in Oregon (where it was 65F at 6am...75F at noon...and 85F at 5pm) it’s a very valuable commodity. Down where it’s 115F it’s life saving to say the least.

Our fairly new yet modest system keeps us 20F cooler than the outside when it’s 90-ish. So we’re good. Last year decided to go on a monthly auto pay with a top company...getting two free visits per year for maintenance plus discounts off parts, etc. It’s already paid off big time.

The tech gave me a 2-yr free maintenance contract with this repair. So that speaks volumes about their service.

It was awesome. Low 80’s very low humidity gentle cooling breeze. It's supposed to be like this all week.

There's no way I'm in West Tennessee in August.

Been an unusually mild summer so far in the Heartland! June was dry, but July brought both neat temps and rain!! Haven't come close to 100F yet! Nights have remained cool in the 60's/70's. My 'maters are lovin' it!! So is my pipe smokin'!! Been able to puff this summer more than any I can remember!! FTRPLT

The storm's outer rain bands have arrived; hope it moves through quickly

Unusually temperate. Low 80's, low humidity, light breezes, occasional clouds.

111 on my back patio this afternoon. That's gotta be a record for me in the west valley! Fortunately my AC is working like a champ.

Early mornings just after dawn have been in the low-mid 70's though which is pretty dang nice!

Cheers,

RR

Feels like 116F yesterday, until the storms came. Without main power for around 5 hrs or so. We have a generator. Lots of limbs down and some new power poles in town.

66F today here. The summer rains have been regular which is a blessing. I've been getting reports from my sister in Tucson, and they do as much as they can before 9am, then hide indoors. Feel for ya, Brewdude! :sunny:

It's rained the past several afternoons here in Carolina.Temps have been around 85

Still hotter than the hubs of Hades here. Got to 114 today with not much relief in sight. Fortunately my AC is doing it's job. And don't get me wrong as I'm not complaining. After all, I did retire to this area to be in a warm climate. It's just that right now, outside activities are curtailed for a little while.

Boy I do not miss Arizona, 114 is pretty warm lol

The temp in NW Wyoming is at 82 but all of the smoke from the fires in California has drifted in and reduced visibility significantly.
