got both sides of my chest and both shoulders done.

Here's some pic's of mine. My first was my dog Yukon that my daughter drew a picture of for artist Troy Simkew of Vernon BC to tattoo for me.

I found out tattoo's are like pipe's, I thought i only wanted one but then you get addicted. Here's # 2 from the same artist.

My last tat was my wedding ring/sleeve. The Japanese kanji say's "Love, Honor, Loyalty" & the skull represents"Till Death".
The symbol on the Samuria & the skull has an emblem on it from a Japanese samuria movie i worked on back in 1990.

My Samuria/Koi Dragon sleeve was done by Lucas Ford from Red Deer AB.

That is epic.

My name translates to "tall tattooed warrior from the dark waters" Eventually I'll have a complete back piece done to that theme.

Hawker all are those are very well done!
Thanks, Troy was a wildlife artist before he stared tattooing & Lucas specializes in Japanese. I have alot of respect for both artists as i'm good with my hands at building things but couldn't draw a stick horse to save my life. It's amazing what can be done with needle & ink when artist are given free rein.

Oh. I thought this was going to be about fountain pens. Carry on. :sunny:
So did I, and I was fixing to weigh in on fountain pen inks. I couldn't reply because I didn't even understand what the OP was talking about. Shows you how much I know about the subject.

I admit that I've never understood the tatoo thing. I don't deprecate it or condemn it; I just don't get it. But obviously it gives a great many folks a great deal of pleasure. Cool. 8)

Hawker - that is some great stuff. Looking at all these pictures is motivating me to get another one. Yet one more vice that costs money!! :rabbit:

I don't get it, either, but if I were 30 again, I probably would. Seems to be a younger generation thing. The designs are beautiful, but I would never color my skin.

Don't really "get" the attraction.

Back in my day the only people that got tattoos were servicemen and outlaw bikers. I was neither of those.

Still, if that turns your crank go for it.

Cheers,

RR

Maybe it's Old Fogey Syndrome<img class="emojione" alt="™️" title=":tm:" title=":tm:" src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/emojione/assets/png/2122.png?v=2.2.7"/>, come back to haunt us. When I was younger and wilder, it was long hair, Beatle boots, and tight pants. My parents didn't get it. They didn't prohibit it, but at first it made no sense to them. Eventually I think they came to understand it as, "He's asserting his independence." And they prolly were right.

I make no such assertions about our tattooed brethren (and sistren). Their reasons and motivations are their own, are none of my business, and are as valid as any other personal preferences as far as I'm concerned. I'm just saying that my not getting it gives me a bit of insight as to how my parents must have perceived my own departures from what they considered "normal". I was oblivious to it at the time.

Veet, yes of course. I can make the same observations as you have since I was also subject to the same influences in the 60's and followed much the same path. Drove my folks nutz.

At the same time I also cast no negative assertions about those who get tattoos. Hope that came through loud and clear in my post, but if it didn't then here it is.

While it's not something that I'd ever consider for my own reasons, that doesn't cause me to look down my nose at anyone that does.

Cheers,

RR

You making aliyah? Sounds like a very cool tat. (Of course, I could join the Knesset, and my mom would still cluck her tongue about my ink...)
