Thanks, Troy was a wildlife artist before he stared tattooing & Lucas specializes in Japanese. I have alot of respect for both artists as i'm good with my hands at building things but couldn't draw a stick horse to save my life. It's amazing what can be done with needle & ink when artist are given free rein.Slide":izf6ikwa said:Hawker all are those are very well done!
So did I, and I was fixing to weigh in on fountain pen inks. I couldn't reply because I didn't even understand what the OP was talking about. Shows you how much I know about the subject.Carlos":163siov8 said:Oh. I thought this was going to be about fountain pens. Carry on. :sunny:
Try bargining with your tattoo artist, i traded knife & leather work for mine.Mozjo33":tyt76k72 said:Hawker - that is some great stuff. Looking at all these pictures is motivating me to get another one. Yet one more vice that costs money!! :rabbit:

Veet, yes of course. I can make the same observations as you have since I was also subject to the same influences in the 60's and followed much the same path. Drove my folks nutz.Vito":zycgsiwj said:Mike, RR:
Maybe it's Old Fogey Syndrome<img class="emojione" alt="" title=":tm:" title=":tm:" src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/emojione/assets/png/2122.png?v=2.2.7"/>, come back to haunt us. When I was younger and wilder, it was long hair, Beatle boots, and tight pants. My parents didn't get it. They didn't prohibit it, but at first it made no sense to them. Eventually I think they came to understand it as, "He's asserting his independence." And they prolly were right.
I make no such assertions about our tattooed brethren (and sistren). Their reasons and motivations are their own, are none of my business, and are as valid as any other personal preferences as far as I'm concerned. I'm just saying that my not getting it gives me a bit of insight as to how my parents must have perceived my own departures from what they considered "normal". I was oblivious to it at the time.

You making aliyah? Sounds like a very cool tat. (Of course, I could join the Knesset, and my mom would still cluck her tongue about my ink...)PiperCub":4k2hedh2 said:since i'll be serving in the IDF soon i'm getting a tat Star of David with a lions head and the words 'He that guards Israel will neither sleep nor slumber'
