As I have said before and plagiarizing a similar phrase from the seventies, "Tobacco will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no tobacco". I'm not panicking, I'm a less-than-bowl-a-day piper, but I'm also at 55 pounds cellaring and still adding. I might be able to grow my own but I would never be able to match the 190+ blends I currently have stashed. I'm not advocating a rush on the tobacco sellers but I would like to have my quality pipe time well into my retirement years without having to pay through the nose or rely on a black market to supply my hobby.

For what it's worth I have contacted our congressional leaders but I have little hope that will make any difference. The times they are a-changing and we'll just have to adapt. ;)

A major player in the "Anti" crowd down here in Texas is a major Tea Party person
I don't know if I'm shocked, outraged, or tickled.. or all three..

Mr Teaparty " I believe we need to go back to the constitution, limited government, limited power, limited taxation.. well except for cigarettes.. we need more legislation, and we should at least double down on the taxes.. and maybe even institute prison for anyone smoking within 31,693.652 yards of a door and possibly the death penalty for anyone smoking within 16.3 miles of a child or within 14.7 miles of where a child might possibly someday perhaps be, fourteenth hand smoke kills 67 trillion children per year. We must save the children!.. and to Hell with the dems and reps if they try to amend in some nonsensical spending bill!!!!!"

I'm gonna ditto this post because 1. It's so right on, and 2. Because it made me spill my coffee thru my nose.

I just think of Sonny Pruitt's theme song (M. Haggard's ditty) whenever PeeB posts. :truckerhonk: :D

Cool idea: I'm going to stock up on large quantities of Lane Bulks and sell 'em to you guys (at what I feel is a fair and reasonable profit margin  ) when taxation hits.

Let's see here: Bulk MV-1000 - Monbla I've got you covered on a good VA blend . :p

I can add pancake syrup to shredded cardboard boxes and undercut your market, Rob.

I'm envisioning the future of BoB as some form of ONLINE TOBACCO CO-OP... "Say Brothers, anybody got a tin of that 2012 Three Oaks Sirian? I got a hankerin' and I'm willin' to trade a can of 2009 Escudo." :face:

Hell, it's practically like that already. Except most times, it's "Where the hell did this can of Escudo/Three Oaks come from? Who is 'The Shadow?'"

In the new world order, any and all transactions of tobacco or tobacco related products or paraphernalia between private parties will be a Class C Felony. In addition, any and all internet forums associated with the topic of the aforementioned will be shut down, and the appropriate government dept will be actively pursuing the individuals associated with said forums.

Their complete financial transactions will be forthwith subject to scrutiny under these orders, and will examined by a government approved analysist. Any and all credit card transactions, personal checks, money orders, barters, and cash will be examined for compliance.

This will be extended from the point of enaction back through the past 10 years.

Fines, penalties, and interest will be assessed on those individuals found compliant in this crime.

In addition, any individual found in possession of more than one pound (16 oz) of tobacco or tobacco products will found guilty of possession with intent to sell.

This will result in prison time in association with the regulations.

This is the NEW WORLD ORDER. YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED!!!!!!!!!

I first moved to San Francisco in 1998 when smoking in public places became illegal. The first time I went to the Fillmore Theatre, there were 2 guys smoking dope out of a full sized bong at one of the tables. Nobody bothered them. Thirty minutes later, a guy near the stage lit up a cigarette and 2 security people immediately grabbed him and ejected him from the theatre.

Maybe ganja scented aromatic tobacco will be the next big fad.

Just got my latest Comcast bill.
They dropped their prices by ten percent!
Just kidding. If Comcast actually lowered their bill I would be looking out the window for the Four Horses of the Apocalypse to be riding by. Greedy bastiches!

"It's stupid, to think one thing dressed so similar can be so different with the right poise and coloration, while fooling common sense in the process. "

Kyle , if you put lipstick on a pig....it's still a pig.

Rev, maybe take all that you mentioned about and reverse that process. In no time I believe you'll be right on point!
