When you talk about making a flawless pipes do you mean a pipe without any craftsmanship flaws or that plus a flawless piece of briar? I imagine it's hard to get the absolute cream of the crop briar on the regular. I guess you could start stealing packages off Claudio Cavicchi's doorstep!

Ps, it's seriously worth googling "Claudio Cavicchi smooth pipes". Briar wood porn.

I'm glad you're not holding yourself accountable for the flaws in the wood. I always found some charm in the Randy Wiley feather pipes. He sometimes just carves a little feather over a flaw in an otherwise nice piece of briar. I'm making a nice pipe it has an ugly pit, well, now it has a nice little feather. Moving forward.

Oh, and yeah those Cavicchi's seem nice but I haven't one in my collection either. But his briar is undeniable. He gets his hands on some premium stock.

Another fine pipe I think most would be proud to own.

Congrats Ron!

With all the "flaws" that are in your pipes I don't understand why you keep making them !! OH well !!

That's a good question Mike, maybe I should stop and realize I don't have what it takes to make the kind of pipes I want to. ;)

Thank you sir
As this was a early pipe in my attempts at making a pipe it does have it's shaping problems and I hope I've learned at least a little something from it. ;)

Cripes Ron, that's another cracker. Love the grain, love the proportions and the ivory stem adds to the look.

Well I don't know about you chaps, but I'm looking forward to number 14.

Thank you Stick but, I've already finished number 24 and 25 & 26 are in the process.
Where you guys been? Look in the Trading Post, I've been posting and selling them there.
I don't post'em here cause I thought some were just getting tired of see'en em. ;)

BTW, I own this pipe, and can report that it smokes a dream. It never gurgles and burns everything to a nice ash. To me, this pipe is perfect, even if it is the 13th and it isn't quite what Ron envisioned. So, Ron did an awesome job on it, despite what he thinks. :)

Damn. That is one ugly pipe!

Since you insist that there is something wrong with, I figured that is what you wanted to hear. Are you happy now?

That's just it, I don't think I'll ever be happy with what I make but, I'll let ya know as soon as I do. ;)

Don't lower your standards, but let others help you judge the quality. You are doing superbly thus far.

Yup Ron, Ally, that's a little, err, ahem, awkward.

I rarely visit the Trading Post Ron so I guess I lost track of the amount of briar you've been wittlin'. Anyway, this one's still a great pipe, and I'm looking forward to whatever you pop out next!

;)

Thanks guys, you'll find my most recent in the Trading Post that just sold a couple of days a go. ;)
Also I didn't want to be redundant by posting then in two different places.
