I posted a while back that I had bought my for-sure-honest-to-God-last Peterson, but...I've always like the Prince-style shape but found it a bit too dainty for me. Then I saw the Pete 408 shape and thought, OK; there's a similar Idea I could get next to. Like a Prince but beefier. Again but, I'd already bought my for-sure-honest-to-God last Peterson, so I just let that thought ride off into the sunset. Then, durn it, I noticed this'n on the Smokingpipes estate listing: a nice-looking Aran, p-lip, nickel band, decently grained, smooth...right in my wheelhouse. But there's that for-sure-honest-to-yada-yada thing, so...nah. And then, darned if they didn't come up with their 15% off on everything-else discount. Well, a fella can only resist temptation for so long, especially when it seems the PAD gods are all lined up against him. So yeah; here she is. At 70 bucks and change ...

My for-sure-honest-to-God-Last any pipe

I was on a good run of window shopping on the bay for a time, till a swan neck showed up yesterday morning. Then this morning I happened upon a pipe lot. Hopefully they will all clean up well.

I looked at a 408 on the bay, and almost bought it. They remind me of a prince shape on steroids. Nice pipe and a p-lip!
