Hello Fellow Smokers. I am Rick from upstate SC and have been into pipe smoking for better than thirty years; off and on. At present my pipe collecting/smoking switch is in the ON position :D . Although most of my pipes are brier, I do enjoy my Peterson meer on occasion. Looks to be a great site and I am most glad to be here.

Welcome Rick! What are some of your favorite tobaccos?

Thanks to all for the warm welcome, it is most appreciated being welcomed by the members.

My Tobaccos: At present I am experimenting with the Lanes, have some aging in sealed Mason jars for a few years. Do not know whether or not aging will be of any help with this tobacco, but I'm one to experiment with things (e.g. aging blends vs single source types). Have not set a time for opening and testing as yet; but I expect curiosity will get the best of me soon.

@bosun1: Looks as if there are a few of us USN guys on this forum. You are the second; earlier I saw a Seabee avatar on a post in another forum. Good to be among other Jack Tars :pirate:

Welcome to the BoB forums Rick, it's great to have you! :)

Dutch, Thanks for the welcome! I love your avatar pic and suspect we may be related. The fellow with the jug, pistol, rifle sure has a resemblance to some of my kin

Welcome!

you can tighten up that stem on the pipe in your description by smokin' that bugger, or nail polish or the like if that doesn't work after a while. (I've been known to get some pretty loose used pipes, all but one's come back with smoking. The last one's about to get the nail polish treatment.)
