Love the grain and finish on the smooth finish models. I noticed smokingpipes has a Gregson for $250.

Thanks for bringing these to our attention Scott. I'm digging the Gregson myself. 8)

I own a Gregson, fishtail. It is a marvelously rewarding pipe. Nice deep chamber, with great drilling; smokes dry as a bone. A fine piece of Peterson craftsmanship. It is a nice big piece of briar, but remains elegant. Holding the pipe in my hand is almost as pleasant as smoking it. The balance isn't right for me when I clench it though.
I posted a picture of her a few weeks back (https://www.brothersofbriar.com/t15537-let-s-see-pics-of-this-years-gifts), first pic, bottom pipe.
Pretty much all SH-series pipes have been well received, and would make a fine addition to any collection.
I look forward to seeing pictures of your Hopkins, should you choose to acquire her.

If you guyz don't knock it off I'm gonna be out $250.

Wish the pix could be enlarged; at least I couldn't figure out how to do it. I think the "Moran" is the one that's speaking to me.

Yeah, the pictures ARE rather small:

Now if you like THAT one...the Yeats in the Writer's Collection might be to your taste as well - and you can get it in smooth, rusticated, ebony (smooth black) or a blast (black sandblasted).

This is the smooth.

If you're talkin' to me; nah, it's the quarter-bent with the diamond shank that floats my boat. Put a p-lip on that darlin' and I'm all in!

Not sure if they've made the "matching" shape in the Kinsale line yet or not but that may be an option. I know the Baskerville, which is the SH I love was also produced as a shape in their Kinsale line for around $100...might be worth looking for, although the urge to own the "real deal" is REALLY strong!

I've loved the look of the Sherlock Holmes series' for years but do not love the vulcanite that Peterson uses. The last couple of years we've seen Peterson releasing more and more pipes with acrylic stems, I have several and they're excellent pipes, and I'm holding out hope that the Holmes series' will soon see an acrylic fishtail stem option. If that happens I could easily fill one of those special Holmes racks with a 7 day set of favorite SH shapes :)

I love all of them but lean towards the Hopkins. I need to look away fast...I promised myself :x

OK so I've poked around on a couple sites and can't seem to find the "Yeats smooth in the Writers Collection". Nothing like it on P&C or smokingpipes. Where are you seeing it? I'd just like to get a sense of the price at this point.

Also interested in checking out the price and availability on the Hopkins if you or anyone has a source.

TIA

Cheers,

RR
