I usually use the filter set-up a pipe arrives with. I prefer balsa for its simplicity and affordibility, but have used Savinelli meerchip filters for a while. Does anyone regularly use stem adaptors in place of filters? I lean towards thinking that it is only another place for tar to accumulate but I would welcome any input. Especially regarding 9mm pipes.
