I've ordered tobacco blends, though not in bulk, from P&C a few times and have never had a problem.

Very good of Russ to jump in here and offer to work with Oz to get this issue straightened out. Well done.

I'ce ordered from them several times - to include bulk and never had a problem.

It sounds like the issues are poor communication within the CS Reps, both with Russ and customers.

I feel kinda bad Russ has to hustle around putting out CS SNAFUs on forums, when it should never have to happen. He doesn't own the place, and he's not in charge of CS (AFAIK).

I've had a couple of mix ups (as will happen) with orders on Smoking Pipes - and have gotten almost instant response and resolution. To a point that it's gone beyond what I have experienced with almost any other online retailer - that has *massive* influence on me and where I buy.

That said - I am waiting on 3 pounds of bulk and some tins on my monthy auto deliver from P&C. I have used that to calm and space out my TAD and it changes each month. It's a feature I like there. Hope I don't encounter any issues.

No, I'm not in charge and I've never had an ownership stake in P&C, but I've got nearly twelve years invested in this brand and take pride in what we do. Our people make mistakes or have communication errors from time to time, but we have a great crew, so if I have to step up on occasion,it's no big deal.

I hope you didn't take offense. I was trying to be supportive. :D

Communications can be hard in companies and on internet forums.

:lol!:

No offense taken. I don't know how it evolved that I've become the point man for P&C, but I don't mind doing it if it means that I can solve issues for our customers.

You know what this means, of course....... pay raise.

:D

This was my first issue with an order through them. It shocked the crap out of me, considering.......

My turn.

One pound each of LBF, LNF, and Anni Kake.

Stared with 4 new 8 oz jelly jars, and after #3 was filled, it was gone. Bag was marked 16 oz, rechecked twice.

Tared out the empty bag, and checked the other bags, and they were 16 oz (+/- a couple grams). Tared a clean jar, and all three packed ones were 4 oz, +/- a couple grams.

I'll email them, but since I didn't get the wrong tobacco, and it's not a traceable error, I doubt much will come of it.

Well, in all fairness, some tobacco weighs more than others......

Did you unjar the short batch and weigh it? There can be variances in the glass....

Otherwise, Sorry to hear that. Even after things got cleared up for me I'm still a bit gun shy.....

It can also vary depending on moisture. If they pre-bag there bulk it can dry changing the weight.

Yup double checked.

Tared out a jar, three 4 oz jars.

Tared out a paper plate and emptied the jar - 12.

Using a digital scale. LNF was 4 fairly full jars.

Well, you know who to contact. At least that's something.

If it lost 25% moisture after weigh out, while in a ziplock during shipping, I'll eat my and your shorts.

Well, I was thinking more if they had pre-bagged it, and weighed it at the time of bagging. I've gotten dry tobacco from them and had to rehydrate it before.

(Or their pickers could just be slackers)

Sounds like they may be suffering from growing pains. But they need to get control of their shipping operations. The largest inventory available doesn't do much good if your pickers are sending out incorrect orders. It can kill your biz in a hurry.
