An overcast start to a day that's forecast to be hot and humid with a strong thunderstorm. I'm starting the day with Peretti's Tashkent in an MM Boone and coffee.

Starting my day with a Kaywoodie bent billiard, Lane LL-7 and a mug of freshly perked Yukon coffee. It`s a grey,hazy morning here. It`s supposed to be brutally hot the next few days. 81 degrees so far.

Last smoke of the day is 2018 Sutliff Walnut Match in a 1990s smooth brown medium bend briar calabash shaped Butz-Choquin Maitre Pipier JR Fait Main with a horn ferrule and a black vulcanite stem. Haven't smoked this pipe or tobacco in quite a while, so I figured it was time to change that.

Jim, does it taste anything like the original Walnut of the 70s? As I remember that was a pretty nice blend. Smoked it occasionally.

Smoking a Pete Baker street with Velvet and the last of my mornings coffee, The sun popped out about an hour ago, So now it`s hot and humid! 85 degrees at 10;45 am!

Starting with CS Shepherds Pie in a Lorenzo Old Vic bent billiard. Staying away from aros which seems to attract the gnats. Got a new bug zapper yesterday which seems to be working, lol. EZ, my sympathies man. It was 100 when I was mucking at HwH yesterday and it was brutal. Felt like one of Mr. Carters sweat hogs. Lol.

2nd bowl is Urban Cowboy in a Don Carlos bent dublin with more coffee. Have to run some errands this morning then back out to the ranch to work on the electric fence. Turns out it's going to be a bigger project than I originally thought, lol.

Truck blend in the Truck pipe-Stetson briar apple. The blend has improved with some nice burley of the Sutliff Ready rubbed flavor coming through.

Now smoking a Savinelli Leonardo 74/500 with Savinelli Aroma, I'm really liking this tobacco. A mixture of Black Cavendish, Oriental, and Virginia. With flavourings of Almonds, Bourbon, Coffee, Vanilla. I think there is a slight hint of Sherry in there too, but I can't swear to it. Mrs Z gives it a big thumbs up for the room note.

Just finished smoking early 2000s Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style.

Never smoked 1970s Walnut, so I can't answer that question. It is fairly close to the 2012 version I tried.

Smoking a Pete Watson with Lane LL-7 and another 8 o`clock k-cup. I don`t know what to prepare for dinner. Too hot to BBQ,Too hot to use oven! Maybe ,bacon & eggs, or franks and beans on the stove top... both quick and easy!

Tinder Box in a Peterson Kildare. I've almost got the Bacchus waxed, it turns out it's five pieces of meerschaum and the stem, with the same tenons connecting them. Kind of interesting.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, saw Otani pitch his first career complete game and shutout for the Angels, and a third of the way though this bowl of Uhle’s Blend 71 in a smooth straight brown family era Sasieni Mayfair 64 N Canadian with a black tapered vulcanite stem. Larry's Espresso #9, neat, is my drink. Off to work now.
