Cleaned some pipes, and am close to finishing this bowl of Watch City Beta Test #4 in a smooth dark brown 1983 Ben Wade Duo 65 poker with a black vulcanite saddle stem.

Off to work with a bowl of Wilke Coronado Oriental in a straight black sandblasted undated, unbranded Made in France short shank billiard with a long black vulcanite tapered stem. Have enough left of this blend for a few more bowls.

Jim you wouldn't happen to know the Oriental variety(s) or the other components?
I never thought to ask John Brandt, and because you asked me, I wish I had. I believe it's blended Turkish. I'll ask John.

Here's my review:
The Orientals offer an abundance of earth, wood, herbs, floralness, vegetation, and some buttery sweetness, spice and sourness as they take a small lead. The musty sweet Cyprian Latakia provides a lot of smoke, wood, earth, floralness, and some sourness along with a little spice as a close competitor. The mildly creamy, unsweetened black cavendish tames many of the rough edges. Its position here is a couple of notches above the condiment line. The strength is a step past the medium mark. The taste level is a slot past that. The nic-hit is a shade below medium. There’s no chance of bite or harshness. Burns cool and clean at a moderate pace with a very consistent sweet and sour, floral, spicy, campfire flavor that translates to the pleasantly lingering after taste. Has a tolerable room note. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Can be an all day smoke for the veteran, and repeatable for the less experienced. Three and a half stars.

Just finished smoking year 2018 Sutliff Dunhill Elizabethan Match in a straight smooth brown 1960s-70s BBB Own Make 506 Canadian with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

A VaPer named Bob's 74th after the guy who made the recipe, in a Georg Jensen Gigant.

The pipe rack is good and back in function, it's just like any other pipe rack. However I did a study in leather dyes on the first thing I made with my Dremel tool, a tamper holder that now fits on my work bench. Check it out.

Last smoke of the day is year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Fed the ferals, and my cats, and I'm reading while this bowl lasts.

Here's my review:
Thank you for your response and the review! I've been smoking Drucquer and Pease offerings that rely on the Oriental components to define their profile. When I first abandoned aromatics I went to straight Virginias and by accident ordered Dunhill EMP instead of Flake. That tin changed my tobacco preferences and the hobby would be more rewarding if blenders were more descriptive of their components. I enjoy your reviews because you break down the Virginia components more than the marketing descriptions, Pease occasionally alludes to some of the Oriental varieties in his blends.

Good Afternoon my fellow BoBs. I'm late to the table today, and i apologise for that. I've been on the phone to our Satellite provider for the last hour, to try and get an engineer to realign our dish. Anyone would think I was trying to spy on China, the fuss they were making. But all sorted now. And so I'm going to fill a well deserved bowl of Hobbit Weed, in a Parker Bent billiard and enjoy the rest of my day. Enjoy yours to my friends 🙂
