Charley would you share your seed source and growing info along with harvesting and prep knowledge. If you can grow smokable tobacco in Oregon I may be able to do it in New Hampshire!

I'd be happy to get that information to you. We got those plants as transplants through a 4H club my sister runs. I have to ask her to get the seed source and how he initially grew them. Currently I'm looking at four to six foot tall plants with entirely green leaves, but I hope to harvest the leaves in August sometime. They are perhaps more successful than anything else in our garden. Stay tuned!

I'm close to finishing this bowl of Wilke No. 515 Double Shot in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This is No. 515 with twice the rum of the Basil Rathbone blend. Spent time feeding the ferals.

Half way through this bowl of year 2013 Esoterica Tilbury in a 2002 smooth Rinaldo Silver Line 3 EGER 05 paneled horn with a silver band and a black acrylic stem. I'll end the day with this smoke.

Nice and early start for me on this glorious hot and sunny day. So I thought I'd start off by Filling a large bowl of Thomas Radford's Sunday Fantasy, yes I know its only Thursday, but I just fancy starting off with this blend today. Anyway my pipe of choice this morning will be a Savinelli Hercules 611 EX.

First, I'm smoking Word of Mouth in a Charatan's Make 4420DC billiard. I'll get the right ingredients for Urban Cowboy tomorrow. This is just kind of beefed up black cavendish, but there's something to be said for that.

I ordered a few pipe carving kits today, but two of them are morta and one is meerschaum. I thought it'd get me off buying Charatans on eBay, and doing something a little more productive. And morta has some mystique to me.

Lastly, I rolled down to my old b&m, took a page from @Balisong's book and got a new cob. The guy showed me "$160 worth" of a single tamper, and then a bunch of $8.95 ones, and I picked one of those, and as I was turning away, he pulled out the one I actually got. This one has mother of pearl and it was just a few bucks more. The cigar box is new too. So I bought something , and wasn't just a bum looking around at the same old pipes.

Smoking an Oldenkott bent pot with Larsen`s 1864 and a mug of CR coffee. Back pain woke me early,Dark, cloudy day here with heavy rain expected,which explains the back issues.
I took my wife out to dinner last night,we stopped at the apple store on the way home because my Iphone has been giving me problems! The tech worked on it for a short time and then told me it can`t be fixed! Then he informed us that I was on my last 3 weeks of the warranty,with that ,he takes out a Brand new Iphone and sets it up for me. I hand him my charge card. he says,nope-no charge,free phone! But ,before we left he told us that without the warranty,the service charge would of been 300! He told me that if I were you, I would now buy the extended warranty on the new phone for 2 years @ 3.99 a month- I could not give him my charge card fast enough! LOL!

That's looks like a Washington Rob Roy, nice choice! I keep some straight amber Danish bits on hand to replace the poorly bent standard bits. I clean up the seams with a soft sanding pad on a Dremel then heat the stem in a water bath and bend it to my liking. Here's the difference on a Pride,

Yes, that much flake smoked for over two hours! It's the juiciest kake I've made, black and sticky.

I took out the spoon on the shank and I'm going to fill the bottom with pipe mud, when I've smoked enough Toscano originale cigars to get the ash. I love the stem you made, very comfortable looking.

Time for a quick smoke of St. Bruno in a Petersons Connemara 106s, OK maybe not so quick, but I'm not complaining. Then it's time to go over to the legion, where a few old Regiment buddies are throwing me a birthday bash, which probably means I'm going to get roasted .

Virginia Maryland One Sucker in a Bacchus meerschaum. I like working with meerschaum. The last section of the shank next to the stem came unglued while I was cleaning it, and I took an old tenon and threaded it into both sides, and secured the shank again. Now it's six pieces of meerschaum and a stem! Didn't have to mess around with epoxy.
