Tennessee Smyrna Bright in a Bacchus meerschaum. After less than three weeks of smoking it every day, the pipe is getting some light brown in the shank.

Smoking a French Jaeantet bent apple with Lane TK-6 and a Mc Cafe k-cup. I spent most of the day cleaning up the yard, I was making great progress until a buddy of mine stopped by.When he left I realized how tired I am. The humidity has been hard on me this summer. I am grateful, I got a lot of work done.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am nearly half way through this bowl of Sutliff Presbyterian in a straight dark brown and tan rusticated Peterson 2023 Saint Patrick’s Day 264 Canadian with an Irish flag colored ferrule and tapered black acrylic stem. Have enough left for two or three bowls. Gold Star Cafe 645, neat, is my drink.

Did a set of walking reps on this hot and very humid day, and am not far from finishing this bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in an undated straight brush etched black Molina apple with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite stem.

Earlier Amphora Original in an old MM cob. Now, John Patton Oriental Dusk in an MM Pride raw cob with forever stem. I need the contemplative time with this bowl to double check things before cutting my deck stair stringers. I've always respected carpenters and now concrete tradesmen, but now even more so, and am humbled by the details to keep track of and skill needed.

Closing in on the half way mark of this bowl of year 2014 Sutliff 1849 in a medium bend smooth dark brown 1968 Barling 5631 London England TVF billiard silver spigot with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

A quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2014 Strang in a 2003 smooth light brown medium bend straight grain Ardor Venere Extra signed by Dorelio Rovera Dublin with a black acrylic saddle stem. This may get me to dinner time. Getting set to watch the Braves-Yankees game.

Ken Byron Ventures Mr Christians Brown Flek in a new to me KBB Yello-Bole Cured with Real Honey Premier pot shape. This pipe had what I could detect as almost no use. The rim was great, Yello-Bole coating still there, and no bite mark or any other stem wear. From what I've read the propeller stem mark and removable stinger put it right there in 1940's. Now this seems like a good design on stingers, as if you don't like them, just remove. It smokes wide open even with it in place. It has nice grain with some birdseye. My guess is that some makers with stingers thought it an improvement to go to the permanent threaded stem kind to allow smokers to unscrew them and wipe off moisture.
