Because of all the hype, I've been wanting to try Edgeworth ready rubbed match. Finally scored some with my last TAD order. Smoking it now in a MM Diplomat 5th ave. Don't get the hype. Not bad but not the best by a stretch, pretty bland. Certainly won't replace CH or SWR as my go to codger blends.

For a few years in the early 1900s, Peterson tried this bit on some of their pipes. It has three holes. Mark Irwin wanted to get Peterson to bring it back, so he started a focus group of twelve people to get feedback in 2019. I was one of them. Silver Gray made the stems, and Peterson supplied the bowls. I love the way it distributes the smoke in my mouth. I really doubt Peterson would put this into production because of the work involved in making the stem. If you Google this, you will find tons more info than I can remember to tell you. I think you'll find it very interesting.

Mac Baren Scottish Blend in a Comoy prince. I know a lot of reviewers I respect give this 4 stars, but for me it just a pleasant, subtly nuanced 3 star blend. I'd rather be smoking Wilke or any number of my own concoctions. But I've got most of a 3.5 oz. tin still to get through. I just wish the American distributors would make the Mac Baren Classics line available in the smaller pouches or 1.75 oz tins like they have available in Europe. 3.5 oz. is a lot for just being curious and then finding out it's not a favorite. That's my rant for the day. Now, onto something better!

This was another one I discovered in an exchange of samples with Briar Beagle. That's the ideal way to try something new, rather than buying a 3.5 ounce tin of something that sits around feeling duty bound to finish it. Never been to one but I understand Pipe Shows are another way to get samples of stuff - if Richmond ever has another pipe show I'll have to make the trip.

CS Parson's blend in a Pete Rosslare with winter blend coffee. Got this to see if the wife would like the room note well enough to let me smoke it in the house. Wouldn't you know it, her sinuses are so plugged up this am she can't smell anything,,lol. Have to try another day.

I liked it. Same smoothness as Cherokee but with more tobacco taste. But yes, hard to beat Figgy Pudding. Wish it were available year round. Maybe if we got everyone to request it??
