GLP Triple Play the last of a tin bought in June 2022 in a GBD 9493 Prehistoric pot. I like this blend enough to have 2 more fresh unopened tins stashed. Just got through talking with an old friend for an hour. It was good to catch up.

Good afternoon gents. For an afternoon smoke thought I would try a little blending experiment. Tossed out about half a bowl of St.Patrick's Day Reserve, added a couple pinches of black cav, then a small pinch of GLP Quiet Night. In a Randy Wiley freehand bent dublin. So far, pretty good. Think if I made up a batch of this and let it meld for a few weeks it could turn into something very good.

A third of a bowl left of well aged 40s or 50s Edgeworth Extra High Grade Sliced in a 2015 Basil Meadows Bing Crosby Merchant Service replica with a smooth straight thin shank, aluminum band and black ebonite stem. This was the first “Bing” that Basil made. Dinner and the Rangers-Astros game follow this smoke.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and green beans dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm headed toward the last quarter of this bowl of Seattle Pipe Club Hogshead in a well appreciated medium bend, smooth brown 1950s Peterson 999 Dublin chubby Rhodesian with a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Watching the ball game.

Passing the first third of this bowl of year 2013 Rotary Navy Cut in a post-1938 Pre-Republic Peterson Dublin straight smooth X155 bulldog with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Nigel Bruce smoked this model in two Sherlock Holmes movies. Please consider asking Smoking Pipes to bring back this model.

Just finished a bowl of the first out of the two blends from tobacco pipe's monthly 'compare & share'. It is a sweet dark aromatic flake with more flavor in the smoke than the tin note let on, subtle peach flavor for the first 1/2 and then some bready almond/maraschino cherry notes towards the finish. The flavor is not similiar to any gawith or erinmore flakes and it doesn't have the tell-tale C&D or macbaren's taste so I don't have any idea what it is, but I'll certainly be getting more once I find out lol!

Between this flake and my first tin of haddo's, it's been a thrilling day of pipe smoking! Haddo's is certainly staying in my rotation, so it's almost time to sneak another flat of mason jars past my wife...

Rambling over, I have some Haddo's delight in a bent billiard medico medalist while grilling some hamburgers for dinner.20231018_193454.jpg

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am off to work with a bowl of year 2020 D&R Raccoon’s Friend in a pre-1980s straight dark brown Comoy's Sandblast 186 billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem.

Passing the quarter mark on this bowl of year 2022 Watch City Blue Ridge Special in a straight smooth ebony post-WW2 LHS Sterncrest 91 bulldog with a sterling silver band, a diamond shank and a tapered black vulcanite stem.

Passing the quarter mark of this bowl of year 2014 Peter Stokkebye Luxury Bullseye Flake in a smooth dark brown quarter bend post-1935 KBB/Kaywoodie New England Briar Pipe Company Flagship 83B Rhodesian with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Fed Daisy the Feral Princess and Tomato the Brave. The others are elsewhere.

Nearing the first third of this bowl of D&R Windsail in an 1890s-early 1900s dark brown smooth straight JD (Joseph B. Desjardins) billiard with filigree metal work with an amberish saddle stem and orific bit. That'll do it for me today.

What we going to call it.
I suggest Trail Boss 🤣

A very good morning my friends and fellow BoBs 😊.
I've been somewhat lapse in my posting of late, and I apologise for that. But the truth is I haven't got much, if any smokes in, during the last few days. Been feeling the start of a cold coming on, and didn't want to agitate it. But it was maybe a kick, from the Covid & Flu jabs I had last week.
Anyway I'm going to fill an unreadable makers Bulldog with some Petersons Early Morning pipe. This old pipe use to belong to my Brother, and is an excellent smoker. I'm so glad he quit, as I also managed to nab the lighter off him. A vintage Maruman GL 67 Baroque that belonged to our dad.
Have a great day my friends 😊
