Swede my friend , hello Buddy.
That is the insignia of the Gurkhas of Nepal. Who have fought, and have thier own Regiment in the British Army..Well since like forever. They are a great bunch of lads. And excellent soldiers.
Next paragraph taken from the net.

Gurkhas are closely associated with the khukuri, a forward-curving knife, and have a reputation for fearless military prowess. Former Army Chief of Staff Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw once stated that: "If a man says he is not afraid of dying, he is either lying or he is a Gurkha."
When I think of Gurkhas I always remember hearing this from when I was a kid

The legend goes that whenever a Gurkha draws his kukri in anger, he must also draw blood… Though the kukri is best known as a ruthless weapon for combat, the knife has several other uses.

Good morning everybody ☺️.
And a spectacular day here in England it is too. However I wasn't to impressed with being woken very early by Nurse Ratchet, who thought it would be a good idea to give me a covid booster ***, instead of Tuesday, when she normally haunts and wails at me.
And with that off my chest, I'm about to fill a Savinelli Long John with some Petersons EMP, and wheel out to the garden to soak up this glorious day.
Have an awesome day yourselves my friends
She stuck you in the chest!? That's terrible!! I usually get my shots in the arm...

The missus has joined me, she with a glass of Cabernet, and a refill of rye whiskey for me, and I'm smoking Sutliff Rum & Maple in a non-branded "Imported Briar" straight apple (previously I referred to it as a billiard, but I think apple is correct) with saddle stem. We're enjoying a lovely sunset. Good night BoBs!

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, cod and green beans dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm half way through this bowl of year 2016 Peter Heinrichs Special Curly in a straight smooth brown 1950s The Saint James London Pipe (Comoy’s second) 185M billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

Heard that story to Mike. Its a myth.
It is important to remember that the kukri is a tool of all work, at home in the hills and on active service it will be used for cutting wood, hunting and skinning, opening tins, clearing undergrowth and any other chore. From this it is plain there can be no truth in the belief that a Gurkha must draw blood every time before he may return the kukri to its sheath
