Just started my late afternoon Rob Roy filled with GLP Kensington, I still need to roast coffee or I'm stuck with tea tomorrow morning. The wife is making chicken broth and just started cooking down some apples for homemade applesauce, the house smells fantastic, I wonder how the smell of the roasting coffee will change it!

I get the impression that you are a big fan of cobs. I've had two of the straight Legends, but I don't like their limited bowl capacity.
In my early pipe days I smoked 1Q and found the bottom of the bowl had a fowl taste, the deeper the bowl the more dottle. When I came back to the pipes smaller bowls were a habit. I gravitated to cobs based on advice from a doctor/pipe smoker from back in the '80s, Rick Newcomb's recommendation of open draw, and, reading The Corncob Primer. I have a few Patriots which have a deeper bowl and the Charles Towner. They're all good pipes especially since I smoke mainly English/Balkan blends and let them dry out before loading a pipe. Enjoy the Southport Ferryman!

About a quarter of a bowl left of Pfeifen Huber Virginia Golden Flake in a 1938 smooth straight brown patent Dunhill R 115 bowling ball apple with a tapered cumberland stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

After a so so dinner of left over meat loaf, frozen mixed veggies, and instant noodles, with a 5 day old cookie for dessert, enjoying some SPC Mississippi River Special Reserve in a Design Berlin bent apple sans filter. Porto wine to pair. Last bowl for me. Temps dropping so time to settle in by the fireplace. Goodnight BoBs.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I've just over a quarter of a bowl left of year 2022 unreleased Sutliff Brown Virginia Flake in a straight smooth brown post-WWII Comoy’s Grand Slam billiard 27 Canadian patent 341422 with a black vulcanite saddle stem.

Bali,

Thanks for the reply and the info. I, too am a fan of English blends. I look forward to giving them a shot in that new pipe.

Good morning everyone. Zippos fav Hobbits Weed in a Bjarne bent billiard. Big mug of Costa Rican coffee. 28 and sunny here. The calm after the storm that dumped 8 to 10 inches of snow on Wed. A lot has melted but most of the north facing hills are still white. Looking at a Calabresi pipe on Ebay. Anyone have experience with them? Appreciate any advice.

Smoking a Pete Deerstalker, Lane RLP-6 and a mug of Community coffee. It`s a sunny day here and the temp is up to 40 degrees, birds and squirrels everywhere,It seems like we are the only place in the neighborhood that puts food out for them...
Got our feeders back up yesterday afternoon. Birdies are flocking in like crazy this morning.
