What i intended to be a lazy day, snuggled up in front of the fire place watching TV, has turned out to be an interrupted one, with my sister and her husband, picking today to pay me a visit.
Consequently my plans, and more importantly my pipe, all got put on hold.
But now they have left, I'm about to fill another Pete, also from their Evening Series, with some well deserved Hobbit Weed.

Breaking in a barely smoked Tinder Box Unique that will be a dedicated Dark Plug pipe because of its thick walls (relights lol) I have to ramp the draught hole in the mortise because it's all the way in the top and doesn't pass a cleaner. Smoking better now that I shortened the tenon as it was butting up into the wood inside the mortise. Sometimes these things need tweaking to make a machine!

Update: 5 minutes with a needle file and she passed the cleaner.

Near the half way mark of this bowl of pre-2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Abner the Eager was at the back door when I got up. He was as happy to see me as I was to see him. He ate his usual amount, which tells me that he was well fed at his real home. I think the cold trek on the snow and ice over here got to him a little because he did a little sneezin' when he got inside. Harry the Hairy wanted out, and so he is. Daisy the Feral Princess ate, and is snoozin on her blanket. Dunno where Tomato the Brave is. M'lady fed Sleepy Suzy and Molly Danger. I'll eat after this smoke is over.
