While waiting for lunch, my breakfast was a big bowl of Raisin Bran with extra raisins, and unsalted peanuts on the side. I followed that up with a large pepperoni pizza, a golden delicious apple, and a small bowl of butter pecan ice cream. I'm close to finishing this bowl of year 2000 VaPer Three Nuns in a 1938 straight black grain relief Dunhill OX Shell bulldog with a silver band repair with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Gold Star Nightwish, neat, is my drink. M'lady is making chicken soup ( my mother's recipe), and before long I'll have a bowl or two. Been watching The Lone Ranger.

I was able to get in a couple of smokes today. First I went for a walk with Jacksie while enjoying Sutliff Black Cordial in a post-transition Sasieni 4 Dot Ruff Root Dark 6 diplomat with acrylic saddle stem.

Later I smoked Straus Sleepy Hollow in a Jansen's N.O. bent volcano with saddle stem.

My last E was this morning's smoke Estate Blend in MM cob I. Nice easy smoke while I worked on water for the ducks and chickens. Filled the kiddie pool with ice cold water from the stream. Took all of 10 seconds for them to jump in.
I just finished my first F. Field and Stream in MM cob II. Very nice tobacco with a great taste and solid room note. My son came out to ask what I was smoking. He likes the old school smells.
Going to take Bruno for a walk and come back for the next F.

I only jus

t started smoking a pipe. I never was able to to see a "real" pipe shop. Unlikely now.
I was in Davidoff's shop in NYC in March 2024. I was shocked about their pipe selection, mostly Dunhill's that had been on display for a long time. They had a good cigar collection of Davidoff. I have been to Davidoff's shop on Geneva and NYC was a step down. If you get the chance, visit Iwan Reis in Chicago. You will come out glowing.

My custom blend I call "Breakfast In Isengard" in my Ascorti Business Dublin with a conical chamber. This pipe is odd as it has a threaded tenon/mortise that doesn't seem to be an alteration beyond the factory View attachment 24860
Very unusual. I have an Ascorti I bought at Iwan Reis some years ago. I looked at a cabinet full there, and didn't see any wirh threatened tenons.Mysterious..

When I was a consultant I traveled all over the world. I used to visit zoos and botanical gardens. I wish I had known about pipe shops back then. One summer I commuted from The Netherlands to England, Sweden, Denmark and Finland every week. Had to have been some amazing shops back then.
I'm a farmer now so travel is not going to happen very often. Wonder if they have a YouTube video tour? Going to go check.

Well, Christmas with the nieces was very nice. I got a tin of baking to take home, which won't last long. I'm having a bowl of Bayou morning in my Anton & Co. maplewood with some coffee. The new coffee pot was a good purchase, takes most of the hassle out of preparing my coffee.

Earlier, I smoked a bowl of year 2014 Sutliff 1849 in a straight smooth dark brown in a 1950s Comoy’s Deluxe 20 billiard with a silver cap military mount and a tapered black vulcanite stem.

My off diet dinner was six chicken and beef quesadillas with three egg custard puffs and a small bowl of rocky road ice cream for dessert. Then, I smoked a bowl of year 2014 Strang in a 2003 smooth light brown medium bend straight grain Ardor Venere Extra signed by Dorelio Rovera Dublin with a black acrylic saddle stem. Community Coffee, neat, was my drink.

Next was a bowl of year 2012 Stonehaven in a straight black sandblasted 1957 Barling Exel 249 Fossil T.V.F. black billiard with a silver banded military mount and a black ebonite tapered stem.

Currently, I am just finishing this bowl of aged Rattrays Hal O’ The Wynd in a straight smooth brown pre-WWII (Comoy’s) Corinthian De-Luxe 126 pot made for Sutliff in San Francisco with a black tapered vulcanite stem. A bowl of chicken soup is next.

Enjoyed a big bowl of chicken soup with a tasty Snap Dragon apple for dessert. Helped m'lady straighten up the den, and am a third of the way through the last of this sample of GLP Westminster in a full bend black pebble finish 2001 Rinaldo Lithos YY8 Titania Silver Line egg with a tapered black acrylic stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. M'lady and I watched a couple of old westerns this evening with all the cats in the den at various times. Molly Danger mostly snoozed on m'lady's lap while Sleepy Suzy was by my side all evening.
