Penzance...boy did it ever stink up the pickup truck...I got back in the truck this morning and the smell has permeated every inch of that thing. :shock:

:?: I've never smoked Penzance; does it always smell that strong?

Penzance is a latakia laden smoke. Latakia does leave a distinctive aroma, however, it does fade. Penzance is the "benchmark" most beloved tobacco smoke there is on the planet so go for it if you can get any. It is a flake that you can crumble and stuff in a bowl. A little goes a long way because it is a very slow burning heavenly tobacco producing clouds of pleasure. I usually allow 90 minutes for a billiard and more than two hours or for one of my larger oom pauls.

Just returned from outside and walked about with a bowl of Dan's Blue Note in my Dr. Grabow Riviera Canadian.. Great smoking time..

All the head honchos are off due to the current shopping holidays, no one left around here but the peons.

So I'm off for an extended break in the truck. NPR here as well!
Lighting up a fresh bowl of G&H Best Brown #2 in a rather large Cragmoor Chimney, big for me anyway. I'll work on that one bowl off and on the rest of the day.

The drive home this afternoon I'll be enjoying G&H Scotch Mixture in a Hilson Calabash.

Hey Krusty NPR is a great station in my view.. Love to take my time with the pipe and ponder.. Heading out soon with some Erinmore Flake in my Erik Nording Rusticated #5.
Oh BTW.. Got two pipes in the mail just a moment ago.. I am very happy with both the Dr. Grabow Viking which is in great shape and all cleaned up. Also I am amazed at the condition the Wally Frank LTD Bulldog/Rhodesian Pipe.. The only thing I had to do was clean out the stem area and wipe out the bowl which is in fantastic condition.. The outside is flawless and wiped down with a soft cloth and 151 rum. Now it has its first coat of rubbed in Carnauba Wax and drying out. Not sure how many times I should rub on rub off the wax but I will give her a good go.. Will post on the PAD topic I posted. So happy.. :cheers: :cheers: :cheers:

Going to try to take some pictures of this Just arrived Wally Frank LTD Bulldog/Rhodesian. It just got a hand rub with some good wax and I will post on my other pad post for it soon.. Just don't like the light spots that shine off of it with the windows and flash but I think the Brothers will understand..
Heading out after the pictures and smoke some FVF in this baby... I think it will do just fine for a Flake Pipe.. Crossing Fingers.. Its so thick walled..

Penzance has such a unique,rich flavor that it makes most other blends just seem like they are just another Burley. It would be my Desert Island blend so far and it works great to mix it 50/50 with alot of other blends to add flavor to them.

Balkan Sasieni is a favorite of mine. I always celler about five tins. Tonight I'm smoking McClellands Nocturne. This is a complex blend originally introduced to The Greater Kansas City Pipe Club and featured at the Chicago Pipe Show this year.
