Mixture of Mac Baren Vanilla Cream Flake and Peterson Sweet Killarney in a Mario Grandi straight billiard. This pipe really excels when it's loaded with this blend!

Gauntley's Spiced Turk in an old Parker straight billiard. Lovely contrast to previous smoke - savoury and spicy. I lost my palette for tasting tobacco following an operation several weeks ago.......now it's back!

It's a nice cool morning so decided it's gonna be a Balakan sort of day so am starting with a bowl of McC's Oriental #14 in my NOS Orlik Captain Black pot.

Dorchester in a slight bend 1983 Ascorti New Dear KS.

Now smoking current Three Nuns tinned version in a 2003 medium bent straight grain Ardor Venere Extra signed by Dorelio Rovera, and ready to go to work.

Now smoking Dark Flake Unscented in a smooth 1984 Fero Danese Italy small calabash shape.

Tried a new one today from 4 Nog that was gifted to me recently by our brother Natch.

Imagine: Burley, VA, Perique, and Deer Tongue.

The Deer Tongue sure smells strong in the pouch. Kind of a mix of spice that I can't identify specifically. Perhaps a bit like "Old Spice" I used to buy my Pap for Christmas.

I remember trying "Crooner" a while back that had DT. It had a strong aroma as well, and kind of a vanilla thing going on. Not sure if I liked it and always concerned it would ghost.

Imagine is totally different. On the match it doesn't have any strident character from the DT at all. In fact it's hardly even there. Perhaps a bit of spice as a background thing.

Overall very enjoyable. Had it as the first bowl of the day in my Pete 999, and on a fresh palate it was very satisfying.

I can see getting some of this in.
