Big pipe day for me so far-

Started off after a light b'fast with a bowl of Park Lane Orient Express Scene 1, in my humble Pete 999 Flame Grain which was the very first Pete I acquired back around '00 or so. P-lip.

Late morning saw one of Ozzie's blends sacrificed in my second pipe I ever purchased, a basic Sav 316 Rusticated Loma. I don't usually reach for Lat blends these days, but felt like a bit of a change. And this blend was christened "Oriental test" according to the Wiz. viz-

A mix of Turkish Izmir, Macedonian , and very slight Yenidji. Blended with a bit of Canadian VA leaf, a splash of stoved VA to darken it bringing in some sweet notes. For some smokey nuance, about 10% Cyprian Latakia. (This is no "Lat bomb")

< This is all Ozzie's notes as far as I can replicate them here. The original transmission was performed in what appears to be fountain pen, and sadly a few of the words were obscured by what seems to be some sort of liquid which dissolved a few of them. Could've been the rain that day in the mailbox or perhaps me spilling coffee on them!!>

And what of the Oriental test? Jolly nice to report pleasant findings, even with my Lat-aversion thing going on right now. Really enjoyed this bowl, considering the frame of mind I was in (that being receptive).

Mid-afternoon I continued on breaking in the RDP big dog. Very pleasant experience.

So that brings me to the final bowl of the day - aged 5100 in my very humble Stanny Legend 19 after supper.

Cheers,

RR
