What was your fastest car?

I was never into the "fast" thing; my '72 MGB/GT wasn't overly fast but it sure was fun. I spent way too many weekends under the bonnet, however, and I'm pretty sure I could still synchronize a pair of SU downdraft carbs in my sleep. I finally sold it, bought a Japanese SUV (first a Nissen Pathfinder and then a Toyota 4Runner) and never looked back...well, only occasionally anyway :) .

Oh…I forgot. I had a monster 1964 VW Bug. No wind up key. The 1964 Beetle, nicknamed the "big window Beetle" for its larger windows, is a two-door coupe with a rear-mounted, air-cooled engine and rear-wheel drive. It seats four and has luggage space under the front hood and behind the rear seat.

Engine: 1.2L or 1.6L flat-four cylinder engine producing 40 horsepower. A real fire cracker, I had mine up past 66 mph several times.

Mine was a 1968 Dodge Coronet with a 440 Police Interceptor engine. I purchased it in 1982. The speedometer only went to 120. I really have no idea how fast I got up to. Those motors were rated for up to 180, but I doubt I ever reached that. A true beast of a car. I used to have pictures, but I have no idea where they went.
