Why do some posts seem to disappear? Are they deleted by forum Administrators? If so, is there a reason why?
Milan

Only deleted rarely. Usually some argument simply got out of hand and the best way to stop it is to move the thread to a deletion pile.

Often a discussion can reach a point where it's best to be moved to the Rubber Room. Where things can be more lively. The Rubber Room requires further registration, and info about that should be listed at the bottom of the main Forum page. It's under "Joining the Asylum".

Also I think the system stores a only certain ammount of info and will automatically discard earlier posts to save space. PB mentioned something about this in another thread.

There seems to be only 18 pages worth of posts stored per person, and the oldest are discarded as that limit is met.

JHugget could probably shed more light on this....

Maybe. The provider does have some seemingly odd limits on PMs and stuff. We also lost some posts during some upgrades to the system. A lot of early stuff seems to have disappeared.

Another protip if a post goes missing: Use the "View posts since last visit" link on the main page. That will show you everything new, including Rubber Room content (if you have asked to see RR posts.)

Just to repeat Carlos, the Rubber Room is open to anyone interested; you just have to ask and get added to the group. It's not an exclusive club. (Hell, they let me in.)

Thanks for the information. I appreciate it.
Cheers,
Milan

Not since we got a dyslexic member who was ready to wrestle the donkey and...

I catch alot of hell.. but what most folks don't realize is 99% of the time it's PB the member they are butting heads with.. not PB the moderator..
There is a difference. It's stupid but there is.. I actually 'Mod' so little that I've often wondered why I put up with the crap I catch for it.

So that's how PB got those spur marks all over him......
It was my understanding those were from da wife. He obviously has a horse thing going on, so I never questioned it.

On the other hand, he has that Ninja Cat hanging around looking for people to attack. Hard to say. Does a spur scratch look like a cat scratch?

She could but that clown in the barrel messes things up.
