The KBV Golf Fore Glory 2022 that I had yesterday, was so good and left a great aftertaste, so having it again in an Edward's Virgin Algerian briar pot marked 728 M on the side and 2 on the bottom of the stummel. I've heard these Edward's Algerian briar pipes are good ones, and mine doesn't disappoint.

Good morning BoBs. Zippos recipe Tumbleweed in a Butz Choquin magnum bent brandy with morning CR coffee. Okay now but gonna be a hot day, high in the low 90s. Going to be sweating in the Honor Guard uniform but thankfully the service doesn't usually last very long, maybe 30 minutes for our part. Then back to the Legion for a cold beer 🍺.
 
A quarter of the way through this bowl of pre-2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Getting a few things done before the Braves-Red Sox game starts.

Enjoyed a tall stack of cinnamon raisin French toast with a golden delicious apple on the side. I'm near the last third of this bowl of year 2016 Sutliff 507-C Slices in a sandblasted medium bend 1950s Reuben era Charatan Deluxe 11 billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Gold Star 50th, neat, is my drink. The Braves can't find a decent fifth starter to replace Spencer Snider, and it shows. It's not going to be their year.

Now smoking year 2016 D&R Two Timer Gold in a 1982 smooth straight Sasieni Ivory 105 Apple with a black vulcanite saddle stem. This was my first Sasieni. Bought it at my local Tinderbox for $9.95.

I had another Westminster in a Pride that kept me happy doing a dump run! There was nobody else at the dump so we finished in record time. The threat of thunderstorms never materialized so we're sitting outside and I'm enjoying MB Pure Virginia in an MM Iconic Legend along with coffee.

Back outside with Jacksie enjoying Arango Balkan Supreme in a Barling Sovereign bent acorn with saddle stem. I'm drinking a Crystal Light type cold drink and reading a book. Jacksie, uncharacteristically, lunged at an Amazon delivery driver. I had to chastise him and now he is sitting with his back toward me.

Having some Casanova in my Bones Dublin with my beer. More or less smoking this to get rid of it, it's a kitchen sink aromatic: caramel, vanilla, marshmallow, chocolate all obstructing the tobacco. I ordered it by mistake and won't repeat my error. It isn't noisome, it's just completely devoid of character or distinguishing features.

Now smoking year 2012 Esoterica Dunbar in a smooth straight, dark brown early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. This should get me to dinner time.

I never have that problem when it comes to history. I also don't believe one can truly understand historical events without an impartial attitude. If one privately takes a side after consideration of facts, then it's a different ball game. When I read history I am looking to know what happened from all sides of a story, and how past events affected that time period, and what came next. I can figure out my own feelings about the results without trying to shade the truth to others. Using one's bias to color another's thinking in history books isn't portraying an accurate representation of past events.

My background is in literature, a four year B.A. Adv. and my M.A. Two things influence every story told ... the experience of the teller and also the listener. History, art, science, politics: name a topic and the inescapable truth is that the opinion of the author and the reader both inform the dialogue. The dilemma is filtering the bias of both to find fact. Authorial intent notwithstanding, we all read a story and extract different salient points; they are influenced by the individual, the era, and the medium.

Oh, I smoked two bowls of SWR in the Legend at work today. I'm slowing down my work smoking for two reasons: I have run out of codger blend and palate fatigue is spoiling my evening pipe. Everything has begun to taste the same.

Relaxed a bit after four wonderful half pound cheeseburgers and freshly made hand cut fries with oatmeal raisin cookies, and a bowl of French vanilla ice cream for dessert. I just finished smoking Watch City SEPC McClouxgaroux 2023 in a 2003 smooth full bend, gold banded 3 Star Ferndown Tudor Root with a black acrylic tapered stem. Hadn't smoked this pipe in quite a while. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.
