    Richmond

Nice city. If you are into Civil War things, there are a ton of battlefields close to or in the city. Monument Ave is a must see as is the old city cemetary. There are a lot of nice "bedroom communities" around the city proper. They also have a great pipe show every year and a great pipe...

Rubber gasket. . . can you taste it after a while?

Never tasted any rubber either. Remember, the jars are made to store food over a long period of time; and some of that food can be acidic so the gaskits have to stand up. For as long as the jars have been in use, I don't think you'll have any problems with a rubber taste or deterioration.

    Pensions - Stock Market, etc.

I was fortunate that I was able to retire at 58, I'm 63 now. I'm able to collect on a fixed benefit pension and I took early Social Security at 62. I figured I'd take a lower amount now while I can really enjoy it than wait until I was 67 to get the full pay out. Hell, I could be dead by then...

    Buffalo Soldier

I ordered several tins of this blend when they first came out, but waited a couple of months to try it. The tin I opened was packed on 4/15/10, so it is fairly young. Upon opening, I was met with a solid block of pressed tobacco with light and dark browns and almost black pieces. Moisture was...

    Smokingpipes.com

PB I asked about Bear at the TAPs show in Raleigh. None of the folks at the Smokinpipes table seemed to know where he went. At least they weren't saying if they did know. They did say that he would be making occasional appearances at Smokinpipes in the future.

    Comments on Stanwell Nanna Iverson

Shadrack, For what it is worth, I never use the filters in my Savinelli filter pipes. I don't have any filter Stanwells, but I would think they are the same. I think they smoke better without the filters, in most cases I don't even use the adapter

2010 TAPS Show Was a Great Success!!! (Photos)

I had a great time. The new venue was terrific, covered porch with tables and benches for smoking; plenty of display space. In spite of my best intentions, I bought another pipe; a Mike Brissett volcano, I am soooo weak. I'll try to upload pictures later. It was nice to meet so many of the...
