Ahh, Kilted1, yes! Break gently for that Condor moment! I order it from James Barber and I since they won't take my credit card order, I have to place the order online, then they tell me what the cost will be, I then go to MY bank and transfer funds directly into THEIR bank account and they send it to me! WHEW!!! But I won't be stopped! I love it that much, both original long cut and ready rubbed. I've dedicated 2 pipes to Condor since it will ghost a briar, as I'm sure you know.

Thanks for the info on SG Bracken Flake! Is it readily available? I'd love to try it.
Like several other fine SG offerings, it seems to have spotty availability. When I'm flush and need to restock, I order Bracken Flake, 1792, Kendal Cream Flake and FVF by the pound, generally from smokingpipes.com or similar vendor. I rotate my 'smoking stock' in order of age, and have found the foil vacuum packs which SG ships last a good long time, though the aging process is negligible. If I truly desire it to be aged, I'll break open the packs and divide the contents into sealed mason jars for long term storage.

Some vendors will sell you a pound of tobacco which doesn't come factory sealed in the way I describe, I've had varied experiences with several vendors, you may wish to call in advance of placing the order to anticipate how it will be sent.

He does fragrances for Takashimaya? He must be a master at what he does. (High-end Japanese consumers have some of the most exacting tastes in the world.) If he's working on the SHPC aro, sign me up in advance.

Hi Doc Manhattan!

Yes, Takashimaya is a beautiful store and you're right, they have very exacting tastes.

If you're curious about the SHPC aro I'm working on it's called Abbey Grange, after one of my favorite Holmes stories. I'm blending Eastern Carolina Ribbon, Cigar Leaf, White Burley, Red Virginia and Bright Flake, lightly cased (to give it a pleasant room note but not to in any way overwhelm the tobacco taste) with Cocoa and Apple.

I'll be bringing the latest version to the meeting Tuesday night to see what the members think.

Remember Neil I'll be there to taste it!!!Ken   Ken
No Pacem 'Till After The Tasting!

I hope you'll like it, Ken, though I know aros aren't really your game!

BTW, I am enjoying the Dark Bird's Eye and even ordered some. A buddy of mine loves it too. Thanks for the intro!

See you Tuesday!

Neil
