Hey Gents,

Unfortunately, my bomber sustained some minor damage in the last raid and is receiving repairs this month. I'm told that everything should be back in tip top shape before the August run. Here's a photo of my bird. Really, it's not as bad as it looks.

I look forward to hitting the August target doubly hard to make up for missing the July mission.

I hope July get's what's comin' to 'im!

YES!!!! I'm SO ready for July!

What with my recent estate find... perhaps I'll be able to come up with something real good for the next target ;)

1/2 the load is prepared here; just waiting to find out the specific target, so some things can be 'personalized'

Count me in! Never done one before. If someone could fill me in briefly I would appreciate it. Is it like "Secret Santa"?

Even though Rob took the liberty of answering the question with a sort of 'anyone is in' response, that's not the case. This is a group to which one is added via their request and my opinion that they will be an effective and responsible member of the Squadron. We've had several guys sign up and then, because they apparently never read any of the directions or other posts on the thread, had no idea what was going on and mail things out early, spoiling the surprise...or not send a package at all!

Because Rob approved you, I'll go ahead and OK that. But he's responsible for you! Don't let him down.

My first suggestion would be for you to go back and read the entire June Mission thing, from start to finish. That will give you all you need to know in spirit and in terms of hard information.

In answer to another question of yours...there is no one way this thing plays out. It is intended that each month be different...and the ways in which the month are different are intended to be SECRET!!! You are not allowed to talk about target information on this thread - or with anyother member via PM - etc. as it may jeopardize the security of the whole thing. And WOE be unto anyone that jeopardizes the security of a mission. There was once a TV show called "Branded" -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXlUS5-ag_g&feature=related

And Kyle...I see that you didn't keep up with the mission activities while you were away! I keep sayin' it and sayin' it...YOU GOTS TA READ THE THREAD TO KNOW WTF IS GOING ON!!!

*shrug* Working and keeping up with bombing just don't go together. :) Sorry, Commander. I'll always keep up with months I participate. I suggest a re-posting of the rules in whole to start out the thread each month anyway, and make note of new stuff and changes for guys on leave that come back, as well as greenhorn pilots. 8) There can't be too much (organized) communication.

On the other hand, I'm prepared--already have my bomb as of today. I'm on it. :twisted:

Yeah...you would be the one that wants me to re-post all that stuff every time. lol

Just kidding ya big lug. It's easy...I just go back and cut what I want to use and paste it in...basic. But I think I'll put it in a word doc like I do with all the lists and assignments and announcements and all. For each month's mission I have a word doc that is just a gnat's eyebrow short of 5 pages of text. Everything I send out and all the 'rules' and everything is saved. Takes a bit of time, but nothing extreme.

That's why I tend to get a little miffed when guys that said they wanted to be involved in this take NO time to just read the thread...know what they're supposed to do and when. If a guy posts here once he gets emails when someone else posts, right? So I'm estimating that if a guy went in 3-4 times a week and read what had been written since his last check-in it would take less than 15 minutes a week (about 5 minutes to check the posts) for a monthly TOTAL of one hour a month...one hour for each mission...which works out to .001 (rounded) as the fraction is 1/720. And it's really only that heavy for two...two and a half weeks each month. So...

Anyway, I think re-posting the guidelines each month is a good idea. I'll do that when I send out the target assignment for July.

Special twists this time? Oh yeah! How about...everybody has to include something in their package that's either red, white or blue! Done! Excellent! We're also going to have a "theme" for the month. More on that later.

Ok, let's see here - Red, White, & Blue. :scratch:

Red = Captain Black Cherry

White = Captain Black White

Blue = Captain Black Royal

Yup, Done. Cool, that was easy! :cherry:

No, I wasn't clear... you have to re-post the rules every new page of the bombing thread. Geez, Commander. :lol:

But yes, what you said--copy, pasting, editing, the rules each month blar blar blar... that.

This is a complex operation whether or not you realize it--herding cats. :cat: :cat: :cat: :cat: It all just works because it's awesome. Some folks just get bored after reading six words, and you lose them. It's why I get away with so much crap here, no one actually reads it. :lol:

Oh, red, white and blue twist--great. Someone's getting a French flag, now. :p

A FRENCH flag??? :suspect:

Perhaps, my young apprentice, you have mistakenly entered the wrong training room? THIS is the BoB Bombers room where pilots, eager for battle, raging with crazed fury...their steel birds the most perfect and lethal embodiment of a rain of death from the sky...psych themselves for their mission of total destruction against their assigned target. :star: The AMERICAN flag is proudly flown here! :star:

It's NOT the room where they start with some mild exercises...raising both hands over their heads. OK - well that's all they'll need to know in THAT room! :cheers:
