After a bit of lunch I'm back on the patio. I'm enjoying Watch City Rouxgaroux in a Barling Sovereign bent acorn with saddle stem, a cold beverage, and a book.
Very aussie I love it like There is common usage of the diminutive forms of people's names; Hargrave → Hargie; Sharon → Shazza; Clark→ Clarky; Wilkinson → Wilko; John → Jonno; David → Davo; Hogan → Hoges; James → Jimmy → Jim → Jimbo; Benjamin → Ben → Benno; Barry → Bazza.Had to laugh at "Euty"!

I think the powers to be might be worried also. They are proposing Nasho service in the UK https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-05-27/what-is-rishi-sunak-plan-for-uk-national-service/103896120and over here and recruiting non citizens. https://www.contactairlandandsea.com/2024/06/04/adf-now-recruiting-non-citizens/Not a bad thing.Got 22 years on you but yes I would still stand beside you to defend our country as long as I am able. But like you I am skeptical about the younger generations resolve to step up if necessary.
Carl, did 2 black ops missions in 67 to 70. The intelligence we got from you guys was invaluable. Everyone in the military is important no matter what your job was or your MOS. Soldiers gotta eat, they need supplies, they need air cover. When it cones to war all jobs are important.Singed,
I'm 79 and served in Military Intelligence in the years 68-72. I never heard a shot fired in anger or saw combat, but I'm happy that I got to serve in an
"important" job and capacity. I, too, wonder how we could fight a major war without going back to the draft.erd That worries me, too.
Best,
Carl
