The critters are fed and watered, we're starting our last warm spell of the year. I'm starting off with GLP Westminster in a bent MM Washington Rob Roy along with a cup of coffee.

Cute idea and a great morale booster in hard times! From a professional standpoint I can't recommend it long-term, the yarn will hold moisture and can lead to fungal proliferation. The jumpers would also provide shelter for a wide range of tree damaging pests. As a seasonal decorative I think they're great with an enormous range of humourous themes.

I have cleared the majority of my annuals and trimmed back the perennials. Tree removal and pruning will dominate my work for the next few weeks. I really don't feel bad that winter is coming, much of the work I do on the beds right now is already in preparation for next year and I'm planning full bore while I do it. Cold weather for me is a recharge and an opportunity to consider new landscape ideas unhindered.

I'm having my Breakfast of Champions, hard weeks ahead but the golfers are off the course. The light at the end of the tunnel is visible.

Questions are a big part of contribution to this community, we share what we know and our experiences. Do not hesitate to ask any more than you would to show us your new acquisitions. Nobody will shame you for posting something in a "wrong" category, it may be moved by admin but they will tell you where it has been put. Enjoy your time here.

Passing the half way mark of this bowl of pre-2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Fed all the ferals, and Sleepy Suzy is eating now. Molly Danger ate already.

After a chilly start to the day we've reached a beautiful autumn afternoon with a temperature of 70°. I'm getting to my first bowl of day, which is C&D Oriental Silk in a 1980 Peterson's Dublin 2 Silver Army Mounted 102 with vulcanite p-lip stem. I'm also enjoying a cup of Colombian coffee, and a book.

Working on the bluff today, so a new mix of my Bluff Blend was in order. It had to be revised due to lack of PA. It is now Granger, a bit of Five Brothers, Sutliff RC 515, GLP Jackknife Plug, and since I was in the mood for strong, a sprinkling of 2023 C&D The Beast all pressed into its own square tin. I used the Shelby Foote mixing method by shaking around in a paper bag. I'm enjoying it much in a smoky MM General with forever stem.

Took the week off; the Missus and I traveled with friends to a really relaxing lake resort area. Rented a superb two-bed two bath home right on the water!! Good times, good sight-seeing, shopping for the ladies (of course!!!!), good food (some out, some in!)...And quite a bit of "deck" time to enjoy briar and weed!
Took two pipes, a Rad Davis gently bent Rhodesian with Walrus tooth ivory shank ring and a Radice Rind gently curved apple with Faux bamboo shank. Filled them alternately with Bob's Chocolate Flake and Original Van Rossem's Troost Slices. Gald to be back home with all the kitties (inside and out!!).
Morning smoke of Escudo in an Alberto Bonfiglioli large (aren't all his large??) bent rusticated "trumpet" shaped 1/2 bent with plateau top plus the usual Alberto mix of stampings!!! Good day to all. FTRPLT

Had a bowl of CS Hunting Creek in a Tinsky while running errands. Walked into the store with nice cool weather and walked out to what felt like a summer day, ready for the heat to be done

I refilled the MM Rob Roy with GLP Westminster just as a friend stopped by and finished it just before he left. I refilled my pipe again and I'm enjoying GLP Westminster with a fresh cup of coffee.
