My woman left yesterday to return in a week. It’s a strange circumstance we’re in and I’m not sure it will last. I love her to my very being, I’m not whole when she’s not around. After 50 years I still feel like a teenager when she’s here. I’ve tried both porches todayView attachment 23552 without much comfort. No football game interests me. I’m smoking a Rossi 8616, what a great smoke. Waiting for bedtime.
Someone once said to me when I was a young fella about women "don't be scared of em you know you could beat them in a fight" and " they all look the same with a poo hanging out of them" I don't know how this is relevant to your post and or how it helped me through my life but the rum made me type it :LOL:sorry, no disrespect meant to women also.

Wrapped up the day with a bowl of Smooth Black & Golden Cavendish in my Tomato meer. Good pipe all around. Little Bulleit Bourbon with it.

Now smoking year 2020 D&R Raccoon’s Delight in my very reliable smooth straight post-1938 pre-Republic Peterson Sterling Canadian 263 with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Woke up and couldn't go back to sleep. We had a little less than an inch of snow, which is the earliest I've seen since I've lived in the South. Harry the Hairy was at the back door, so I figured I'd let him in as long as I am awake. Dunno where Abner the Eager is. Daisy the Feral Princess and Tomato the Brave are snoozin' in the den. I'm half way through this bowl of Watch City Original Crumb Cut in a 1950s-60s straight smooth brown Bertram 07 octagonal paneled billiard with a square shank and a tapered black vulcanite stem.

I'm thinking of throwing our scale in the dumpster to prevent my wife from using it! Or is there a scale out there you can program to display things like "YOU LOOK FANTASTIC" or something like that?

Still fighting the bronchitis, but at least now I have the meds for it, and the cough is productive. I'd love to go outside and have a pipe, but it's very cold; we just had mid 70's the other day, now it's 23°F and we have 1-2" snow coming tomorrow. I started felling better yesterday and did a little project in the shed, intending to light up when I was done, but my activity set me back and all I wanted to do was go inside and stay there.

So even if I don't over exert myself today, and feel like a pipe later, I'll still be out there breathing frigid air. So to console myself, I bought a new pipe
Had a $15 off ebay coupon, too, so I couldn't say no!

I'd like to get either a bent Dublin or a shape 69 in that style.

Good morning BoB! 13F here this morning, -11C. Not terrible, dunno about the windchill, that's always the real concern here. I'm having Granger in the Cobbler with my coffee. I'd like to run some errands today but I'm leery of the post Black/Friday and Cyber Monday shopping crowds. I hate crowds. Milling senseless animals ready to stampede at the least provocation. Think I'll wait until I've had another coffee and pipe before I seriously consider an outing.

@WetPipeDreamer It's very nice to put a face to the name! I applaud your courage being out so early and so cold, first light is the best time to be out smoking. I get a good 45-minutes to an hour every morning of quietude at the course. I like to think of it as "Magic Hour". Enjoy your morning smoke!

I kind if know where you're coming from. I've been with my wife since I was 16. Got married at 18 years old, I'm now 50. When my wife was in the hospital a few times because of breast cancer I didn't know if I was coming or going. Then she was in again for a hysterectomy. I actually went to the hospital every day from the time they let visitors in until visiting hours where over. I did this until the day she came home. She's my everything, my half of being, my soul mate. I'll tell ya what, if something happens to her I will never date, marry or even be interested in someone else. I'll just continue to work and hang with my two adult sons who still live at home.

How is the room note with Old Professor?
Hard for me to say RM, it is strong but not pungent, I like that. Only myself to worry about. I would call it "very English gentleman's club": it tastes like old private libraries, I have a romantic view of strong English tobaccos. Another favourite of mine is Star of the East. I dunno if this has been any help or simply clouded the issue. ;)

We spent winters in a warmer place since we retired 20 years ago until my health started slipping 2 years ago. I’m feeling better now so we are planning a couple of months down south. On every trip I would tell her she is the only person I would spend months alone with, just me and her. She is the most genuine, unobtrusive person I’ve ever known. I love to watch her live. Kind and unselfish beyond words. My life seems to be sorta successful that such a wonderful woman could actually love me. God has been good to us.

I'm making another coffee and cubing some Va Slices to go in my Rattray's. I'm having a maddening morning, I got a phishing e-mail about an online Microsoft purchase this morning so I have been busy contacting credit cards and PayPal to put a hold on purchases for the next few days. The holidays get close and the vermin just spill out of the woodwork to sucker people. Watch your e-mails closely, bad grammar and punctuation, misspelling and false contact information are easy tells that something is suspect about a message. Do not click anything you aren't certain about. Happy Holidays.
