Crooner in a no name estate I fixed up. Still pouring rain and that's the ticket for the next few days.
I'll work on the garden and building a new duck house to keep the ducks and chickens separate. When the weather breaks and things dry up I'll finish the pond and move them and their new house over to it.

After dinner, going to smoke J. COTTON'S Double Pressed Virginia, vintage 2023 in another of my carved briar heads, 1950s vintage. No markings other than Made by Hand & Made in France. This pipe has a birds eye that makes it look like the Arab has the pox, or really great freckles.

Earlier, I smoked a bowl of first release Watch City Rhythm & Blues in a black sandblasted straight 1998 XXX Ashton Pebble Grain lovat with a black acrylic saddle stem.

After a short nap, I smoked a bowl of Peretti Blend W in a 1980 black rusticated rough top Jobey E27 Stromboli extra ball-shaped poker with a pearl green acrylic stem. Since I missed lunch today, I'll have a meal very soon.

Had some Star of the East in my Rattray's this afternoon, then a nap. I think that'll end my smoking day, I've been a little overindulgent and need to let my mouth rest a bit, my palate and tongue are a bit sensitive the last few evenings. Too much of a good thing is never good.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and green beans dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm half way through this bowl of year 2019 C&D Yorktown in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Terracotta 4AB No.108/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

I have Plymouth Barred Rocks and Silver Appleyards. Do you keep breeds or variety?
I have French Copper Marans, Coocoo Marans. Blue and Green layers and Cream Legbars. Plus a couple stragglers like my OG rooster Reagan. He's a Gold Laced Wyandotte.
Ducks are 300s and Welsh Harlequins and 1 Mallard Abby and 1 Peking Peeps. Peeps has laid a dinosaur eggs a couple of times like this one. 124 grams.
I get good range of colors. Even more now. I need a couple of white layers to make the colors pop more. I'm considering more ducks. Super easy to care for and great layers.

Close to finishing this bowl of Watch City American Cut Plug Mixture in a smooth medium bend terracotta Peterson POY 2023 X160 464/1100 military mount egg with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Spent some time traffic copping feral feeding. Abner the Eager is spending less time inside lately. I suspect that Harry the Hairy is the reason. Tomato the Brave gets uncomfortable as well when both are inside the house.

That poor duck.😳

Cold and windy this morning, but not as bad as the 50 mph winds yesterday! Out on the deck trying out a new seat warmer, enjoying some C&D Maestro Pucinni in a Charatan’s Make Authentic, with some Colombian coffee and music on the Bluetooth speaker. Will be taking advantage of having off on this fine President’s Day and enjoying more pipes today!

I've kept Pekin ducks a couple of times and the can lay super jumbo eggs but the breed reminds me of the lazy and always hungry Cornish-X chickens. The Silver Appleyards are almost as big as the Pekin but very active.
